I’ve been a professional mechanic. You use a spring compressor. Right tool for the right job = safe. Using a spring compressor that doesn’t fit or isn’t installed correctly on the spring is dangerous. Then again, that can be said about most things related to cars.

Because many people do not consider an old, beat-to-crap Jeep to look better than a shiny new car? And it’s easier to finance a new car than save up cash for an old one?

How, exactly, does one compress a spring, if not with a spring compressor?
