Mostly Yes. But the bigger thing is that is easily fixable and any decent (or even semi decent) guy in a small shop can fix this for a very small amount of money. And for the schools, they can do a workshop on electronics repair for the children, OR, they can pay a repair shop to do it.

In all of the Chromebooks in our district you remove screws, pop the back cover off, and remove a few screws holding the battery in. They definitely are built for ease of repair.
