My university blocked BitTorrent at the protocol level. Made it really difficult to get updates for Diablo III, since Blizzard’s updater uses the protocol to ease tension from their servers. I also couldn’t use BitTorrent Sync to keep files synced between my laptop and desktop like I had been doing in high school.

Which makes it superior. It’s only slightly thicker than the tablet and has a better touchscreen, a keyboard/trackpad, and isn’t held back by a tablet-grade processor.

Nope, thinkpads drop in price very quickly because the company releases a new one every year. Since businesses use them extensively, they tend to upgrade all of theirs at once and dump the old ones at rock-bottom prices.

As far as used laptops go, you do need to do your homework on what components might need to be bought new (like batteries) and ask for more info/pictures from the person selling it. However, as long as the laptop can boot up, just about any other issue can be resolved by wiping the hard drive and reinstalling windows

Ebay auction

I followed a couple of auctions on Ebay for a few weeks, got pretty lucky to be honest. You’re more likely to find the Carbon models for $300 than $200, but I had a strict budget in mind.

Anyone looking for a sub-$500 computer should consider the pre-owned market. I got a lightly scratched ThinkPad Ultrabook for $200, with an i7,an SSD, and a touschscreen. A new laptop with specs like that will easily cost you over $1500 today.

And don’t forget the “Unions are evil” training video from Walmart:

I got a gently used Thinkpad Ultrabook with a touchscreen and an i7 processor for $200 on eBay. The only blemish is a couple of scratches on the bottom. I have a feeling that any student who needs some real processing power is going to look into the used hardware market.

At the rate WalMart pays me, $400 isn’t “cheap”. If they want to market stuff to students, they’re gonna have to work within the budget limits of the average student.

I just saw a comparison video of the original RFGand the remaster. I couldn’t tell the difference between them at 1080p. The remaster doesn’t appear to have a larger draw distance, more destruction/particle/lighting effects, or even remade models for characters/weapons/vehicles. It looks like they just upscaled the

My family just switched over from AT&T to T-Mobile as well, and we saved a ton of money on their own unlimited plan.

I’m still using a DVI computer monitor, it’s treated me well for the past 5 years.

Dino Mode Confirmed?

I’m not sure if he can. The office of the president can only pardon federal crimes, and Weinstein’s charges appear to be under New York state jurisdiction.

Updates are now scheduled automatically to install when you are not using your PC (like when you’re sleeping). Video card drivers haven’t posed major issue since the early GTX series.

A lot of passwords, despite their length, are still vulnerable to attacks based on lists of previously breached passwords. For example, the infamous RockYou List contains over 14 million account passwords from a single website. Dictionary attacks using this list can still be very successful depending on the password

It’s a genre of games that include permadeath and grindy, incremental character progression as their main gameplay elements. It’s used to artificially lengthen a game’s playing time without needing to develop worthwhile content.
