So female writers can't be criticized because they're women? That's ridiculous. I can't comment on USoT, but Juno, Jennifer's Body, and Young Adult were all sub-par movies because of the screenplays (JB had some terribad acting as well). I didn't read the actual scripts that she wrote, but she hasn't disowned the…
I disagree that it was good precisely because " the characters experience no real growth or even a desire to change". Not all movies have to have that (mindless action, horror, etc…), but a movie like Young Adult certainly does or you just hate every character in the film (I know I did).
Pets.com didn't go bankrupt. It just got sent to a farm upstate.
Looking at all of the lists, I'm surprised that Fruitvale Station isn't on more of them. I haven't seen it, but the critics loved it, and it's an "important" movie, so was it really not very good?

I noticed a shot of Egypt/Sinai/Israel that would have oriented the astronauts north/south, or just like a map would be oriented.
I remember her saying something about spending 18 hours in a lab in a hospital, so she doesn't see patients. No idea if they actually mentioned M.D. or not, but I was just guessing some type of researcher.
Who wasn't?
If one is misinformed because of a fictional movie or novel, then one probably doesn't really need to know the truth about that subject. For example, if a potential astronaut sees this movie and thinks the science is 100% accurate, he will be reeducated upon joining NASA. If I, a person who has no ambition to join any…
NASA is basically just a jobs program to them, so they need the most number of jobs per dollar, not the most exciting or useful experiments per dollar.
"Above a world…"
@avclub-de9878e9d33c60263a094abc94fab3f0:disqus Just think of it this way: Every film that isn't a true documentary is set in a fictional world of its own creation. Gravity is set in (above) a world much like our Earth, but with some minor differences, like their satellites go west to east and all of the space…
