I don’t know, I kind of like how nondescript Zemo was. Although yeah, making his weird sock-mask into an actual balaclava would have been really cool.

Now playing

It’s a self-aware meta movie. If you saw 22 Jump Street, the ending had a bunch of fake teaser/trailers for all the dumb sequels to 21 Jump Street, that was making fun of themselves and Hollywood’s proliferation of film franchises.

Says someone who I’m sure never bothered to watch the new 21 Jump Street, or else you’d have an entirely different opinion on the matter.

21 Jump Street was a satire of Hollywood’s reboot culture. 22 Jump Street was a satire of Hollywood’s endless sequel culture. 23 Jump Street is going to be a satire of Hollywood’s new obsession with shared movie universes (See Marvel, DC, LEGO, X-Men, Star Wars, etc...).

I want this, I want this so much, I want it in ways human brains hadn’t yet learnt to comprehend.

22 Jump Street is one of the rare comedy sequels that’s better than the original. Because they managed to pull off the absurd meta humor while still holding on to a pretty cohesive plot.

I have a special place in my heart for people who not only say, but truly LIVE by the phrase “fuck it.”

The problem here is one of proportions. There aren’t enough roles for women or non white people (or gay people or trans people, or so many other different kinds of people), so when we see a white person taking a role that was originally a non white role, it’s part of a larger problem. You say there were only a couple

Why don’t you follow your own advice and stick to matters that actually mean something to you instead of expressing irritation at something that you really have no business being irritated about?

I’m still having trouble getting behind a Doctor Strange where the Ancient One is whitewashed but Wong the manservant is still played by an Asian actor.

I cringed. The exploitative factor was dialed up like woah. I was hoping it wouldn’t feel as whitewashey as it ended up feeling. The visuals look cool af though.

Wow. It’s even harder to swallow that whitewashing than I thought it would be... Shame because I love Dr. Strange (hoping this movie means finally a trade with the Roger Stern/Marshall Rogers run) and I really wanted to like this.

Scott Lang had the same reaction every person has looking at Chris Evans in person for the first time.

The fist bump-explosion with the Storm Trooper is insensitive to the people of Alderaan.

Keeping Channing Tatum. And Cobie Smulders as Wonder Woman. Both of whom would probably be better cast in a live action adaptation than the actors actually cast.

If he has been keeping a young man in his house for 70 years can we really call it a 'phase'?

You go too faithful and it gets a little too unrealistic. I’m not sure how I feel about the test HBO commissioned way back when. I think it may just make him look too old, so I can understand leaving the more youthful upper face intact.

Yeah I think that’s about as good as your going to get using an actor who still physically has a jaw. There are limits to what makeup can do.

Why can’t we just lose Snyder? He’s clearly going to do what he wants, how he wants, steaming merrily onward despite failures, criticism, or logic. Honestly, the last decent film he directed was 300, and that wasn’t without issues.

It really bothers me that, both in the movie and now in the comics, they have to make her some smokin’ hot sexy woman.
