It’s always heartening to see the Cardinals lose, but to see them lose like this? Just goes to show there’s still some good in the world.

I thought for sure with the bases loaded in the top of the 8th the Nats were screwed.

So who’s going to be the scapegoat for Cardinals fans? My money is on Dexter Fowler, former Cub and admitted person of color.

I had to throw a guy out of a bar today because he called LeBron James an uncle tom. I’m black, he’s white, and we literally weren’t even talking to him. And this is in San Francisco. Read more

Yeah, I really don't expect your average (or goat) basketball player to be able to say anything intelligent about China. But it is pretty fucking obvious the NBA is ignoring human rights violations because they have dollar signs in their eyes. Pretty fucking simple.

A good time to remember that Colin Kaepernick gave up his job and all the considerable perks that come with it to stand up against injustice, while LeBron James, whose legacy and bank account are both more secure, is unwilling to risk even a small fraction of future earnings to speak on one of the few world issues Read more

I think the most charitable defense possible of this statement is players understand that Morey’s tweet might end up dramatically slashing career earnings for a good chunk of the league. NBA players generally only get to hit the free market once or mayyybe twice, and lot of random players will miss out on their one Read more

I understand the players are caught between a rock and a hard place. But this has to be one of the most craven capitulations to money I have ever seen by a major athlete. Should have kept quiet. His rationale is bullshit.

Joe Musgrove, Colin Moran, Michael Feliz, and Jason Martin. Fucking kill me now. The Snyders and Dolans of the world may get their (deserved) fair amount of shit, but for my money you can lump Bob Nutting right there with ‘em. World class dingus.

So tonight’s third inning snapped a streak of 73 innings in which he recorded at least one strikeout. Even in this three-true-outcome era, that is staggering. Read more

DC sports...succeeding...in the...postseason? The Caps really must’ve broken the curse it appears. Except of course, for the Washington football team, forever damned to the depths of hell.

i will celebrate this because elena delle donne deserved a ring with all her poorly timed injury troubles, because athletes achieving success at the highest levels of competition is exciting, and most of all, because it will piss off mewling pissbaby dan snyder and his cronies.

Been a big fan of EDD’s since I learned who she was: the day she left UConn for Delaware before her freshman year of college. She is such an amazingly talented athlete. Congrats EDD and the Mystics!

This was worse than the last two World Series exits. At least they ripped our hearts out fast in the deciding game. The hope spot for seven innings was absolutely excruciating when they finally gagged it up. Not even the Giant bro at the bar screaming "Bryan Stow" and "fucking retard" in my face after the grand slam Read more

I think we’re underestimating the real heroes for Washington in this situation - Dan Snyder and Bruce Allen. By concentrating the suckiness of DC sports into a fiery black hole, they make it possible for other area teams like the Caps, Nats, and Mystics to have a window where success, while not assured, is possible. Choi is fat and awesome and that’s enough for me to root for the Rays in this series.
