Rashida is an Arabic name. A “black” name would be Idris or Youssou or Kofi. Giving ourselves Arabic names is, what, cultural appropriation?

“Black culture” is Southern culture, up, down and sideways: same language, same religion, same food, same, um, issues with impulse control. I wish the whole discourse on black culture took more note of this.
