I think also knowing that some titles are going to have the eventual GOTY is pretty much putting me off to immediate releases. Why buy a disc that needs updates to function properly, when 8-12 months later I can buy that same game, complete with updates on-disc and DLC for the same cost or less? Gaming is too damn

Makes me wonder if Sony/MS would be bold enough to put a more stringent QA program into place and offer consequence to companies who release an unfinished product more than once. I’m also interested to see how Ubisoft does this holiday with the next AC title, and if Unity caused irreparable damage to the franchise

Nintendo is the only company I usually buy on day-1 anymore. Folks can knock them for one reason or another, but their quality and relatively stable cost value for 1st party titles is really unmatched.

I had 3 very broken NES’s growing up, and a lot of my core gaming fell on my beat up, taped together (in the back) Gameboy. Loved the hell out of that thing, and have nothing but admiration for Gunpei. I’d love to think what he could have done had the VB been a greater success, and the possibility of what he could

I’m wondering if you left it on for a little while if it would help. I think when I played both of mine for an extended period, it might have caused the internals to heat up to a point the ribbons were connecting and fixed itself (at least temporarily). In any case, good luck!

That’s exactly it. I have two of them (both used), and both had either one screen “die”, or lines in them. There are still few older message boards out there for fixes (including putting the guts of the system in the oven), to allow the ribbons to meld with the circuitry again. Once I started playing them a little

Pretty much on part with how the WiiU was launched. Good ideas and poor execution.

Ugh durability of the VB is terrible these days too. The ribbons connected to each screen have a relatively high failure rate.

Seriously the best Warioland they ever made.

I remember reading that Nintendo had pressured Gunpei Yokoi to finish the system (specs) before he felt it was ready. Amazing to think what a few months of extra development time could have done for the system (and potentially changed it’s success).

I dont care what anyone says, Red Alarm was the shit and scratched that Starfox itch. Warioland was also better than any of the Gameboy iterations. Still surprised they havent put the games on the 3DS eshop.

I dont think I’ll ever see him as anything but Wild Six Pack Abs now. You should have your sister name the rest of the current roster.

Gamer cat was fantastic. I used to think cats were exercising when they bobbed their heads before puking (when I was a kid). I was an idiot.

Despite his death, it’s great to see gamers worldwide pay their respects. Not often folks are united in gaming...

Not really. He’s the one that helped formulate streetpass and make it a fun feature. If anything I’d bet he’d be happy folks brought their systems along.

This is one of the (many) reasons I’m excited for Super Mario Maker.

Ugh I’m leaking man-water from my eye-holes.

Owls are just bird-cats anyway.

Absolutely! I was lucky enough to snag Marth and Ike, but Robin and Lucina I’ve only heard about in whispers and dreams. Those two are fracking unicorns.

I still haven’t hit Infinity up yet (as I’m more of a game collector than toy), but once Star Wars Infinity arrives I’ll be broke for certain.
