I’m thinking that it was a deliberate choice based on the most internationally known holidays. 

Hate to say it but this all looks like crap. Plastic bits and kitsh and REALLY ugly plushies.

People should just visit flea markets and antique stores to get much, much more value and better looking things. Antiques in this style are silly cheap nowadays, at least in Europe.
