A public forum to voice your opinion, no matter how vile, should never be shut down. Free speech has gotten super shitty in recent years, but all the same, once you start shutting it down in one venue or another, that’s a slippery slope to our country becoming a place where only one way of thinking is allowed.

Oh good, Kotaku’s top stories today are about Twitch streamers... why do I even visit this site anymore? Seriously.

Truth. I think a real simple test will be when AI creating music gets really really good, and people genuinely get lost in the music and dance with it, and jam with it, how will people moving to the beat be able to cry, “This doesn’t count as art!” when their own body and natural instincts betray them?

That comment couldn’t be more obviously a joke. Sure, it is true, but I don’t think they were being genuine with the implication that time had been wasted here at all.

I think its funny that people are complaining about artists’ rights at stake here, when if you think about it, the creator of the AI that’s creating all these images, is like the ultimate artist.

Starts by saying they’d rather not be a hater, proceeds to hate on material that is inconsequential to the actual media that is the subject here. No, you want to hate, or at the very least you’re not opposed to it. Which is fine, but at least own it. Don’t pretend you’re not here just to ruffle the feathers of people

I think the real headline here is that Kotaku isn't receiving review copies for certain games while their sister site AV Club apparently is.

Saw it on Saturday night, genuinely loved it.  Great to see a fun Dragon Ball story that isn’t all about Goku and Vegeta (not that I’ll never stop enjoying those stories, its just nice to see Piccolo and Gohan shine for once in such a long while).

Nerd culture in general has become the cool culture. I feel bad for Gen Xers who were big into comics, video games, and Star Wars and the like and were made fun of for it back in school, while today, if you haven’t caught the latest Marvel movie or kept up with the most popular anime, now you’re the outcast.

That wouldn’t be the solution either. At best, it would be a small disruption to their community before they regroup together again elsewhere on a new site.

Sorry, not sorry, Zucky-boy, you get one good chance to drop your new take on the world to the world.  You have failed.  Though there is nothing wrong with that.

I bought two kids meals (I do not have any children), and I was slightly disappointed when the employee handed me two plain Happy Meal boxes.”

I don’t even care about competitive pay and I too hate Steve in Smash Bros, mostly because I feel like he more than anyone else taints the legacy of Smash Bros. All the fighters in game, even Game & Watch and the Miis, exude unique personality. While Steve is the most blank slate nothing character, with no great songs

It’s a dumb ad that’s fun and easy to make of, but it’s also harmless and I wouldn’t even call it the whiff that you are, as this ad is getting far more attention than some standard forgetable one. It could be accomplishing exactly what it set out to do.

Loot shooters have never done it for me, the feedback loop just never resonated with me. When the loop is ultimately as simple as do A to get B, which enables you to do A but slightly better the more you do it, the illusion quickly breaks down. I need more to the loop, I need multiple rewarding steps with optional side

It’samazing how many old classic games still have secrets and Easter eggs that have yet to be discovered. It's pretty damn cool, there's like little digital treasures just waiting out there, yet to be discovered, and I love that.

Could be one of those things the devs just intended to use for debugging purposes and simply never removed it. So they may not have been proper cheats they intended to disclose to begin with. As such, the peeps at Nintendo Power probably straight up were never informed of the cheats.  This news may be as surprising to

She’s not wrong about Beyonce fans being a cult. In their eyes, Beyonce is a God who can do no wrong.

I like how Breaking Bad has an episode called Better Call Saul where we first see the character of Saul in that series, and now Better Call Saul has an episode called Breaking Bad where we first see the characters of Walter and Jesse in that series. To quote George Lucas, "It's like poetry, it rhymes."

Right? I’ve never touched Roblox or watched a Let’s Play or anything, but that soundbite has been making the rounds on youtube channels and the like for years at this point.
