You say that, but there are a lot of fantastic Nintendo fan games that have not had a spotlight shined and are still readily available today. It really does only seem to be the projects that get the most media attention that Nintendo tends to go after.

Hell even when people don’t want to buy it, Nintendo will still take the gamble, look at the Virtual Boy and Wii U.  (Though I adore the Wii U and everyone who shrugged it off are monsters)
