Most of the YA I've read have female protaganists. If a guy is presented as wanting to move forward with sex he is usually a "villian" ex-boyfriend who's a mean jerk and New Hot Guy is the understanding one who will wait and wait and wait until the third book in the trilogy to get some.

I'm glad you mentioned the virginity thing. I'm guilty of reading a lot of YA novels I'm probably too old for but it never ceases to amaze—and annoy— how virginity is held out like some ultimate prize. There will be like a 3 book build up to IT finally happening. In YA world, it is only when virginity is lost that can

The ratings for the Hills plummeted when Lauren left and Kristin was put in her place. It's not always personality that people find interesting. There are plenty of loud bitchy women on reality TV who can't sustain fame after their shows because their personas are so unlikeable.

I think LC's profile was written by someone who never watched the Hills She was infinitely quotable on that show. Her quotes are all over tumblr. (My fave: "I want to forgive you and forget you.")

She had me until this:

With over a billion users would it be fair to say it might take Facebook some time to get around to every complaint?

I said in a prior post that I thought Amanda might be pulling a Joaquin Phoenix and playing a character to be revealed as some sort of expose on society and the media.

Seconding the suggestion to roast. I used to think I hated brussel sprouts. Then I realized I only hate brussel sprouts that aren't roasted.

I'm confused. Where are the kids going to go when they close the 50 schools?

There's got to be a better term to describe the act of shaming women for their sexual behavior than "slut-shaming". It seems like the word is acknowledging that the woman is a "slut" who is being shamed.

At the risk of getting my head snapped off. Why is this a big deal?

Sadly, someone out there just read your post and realized that half-slice of apple and cube of cheese they ate this morning was way too much. They're going to try to do better tomorrow.

I go to Pinterest when I'm looking for a specific solution (creative storage in a small space) or recipes. No stress for me.

You're "basically"putting a lot of words into my mouth that were not said meaning you either can't read or are trolling. At this point I will agree to disagree with you and leave it at that.

Who said there was an "elaborate media scam"? "Build them up to tear them down" is a common expression and it aptly applies when the media goes digging into the past of someone receiving positive attention for the purpose of making them unworthy of that positive attention. We shouldn't even be discussing this man's

Add to that, some women, upon marriage, seem to forget that we still need rights and vote against women's interests at every turn. This phenomenon seems prevalent among Republican women.

The Castro's had women imprisoned in their home like a few days ago. We're not talking about the past with these guys.

His criminal past has no bearing on the fact that he saved three women's lives. Imperfect people sometimes do amazing things.

They build you up to tear you down. I knew it was only a matter of time before someone dug into this man's past to find dirt that would overshadow his heroism.

I think Jezzie should have waited until we actually know more so there's no egg-on-face, foot-in-mouth situation if Michelle turns out to be whiter than the GOP.
