i’d say the ones willing to put money on this kid are worth following through at the very least.

and in all this media bullshit, this killer gets the fame and attention he always wanted, while black people can’t even feel like people...and the cycle continues. media contributes to the love affair with mass murderers but always acts surprised that this happens. first thing you can do is stop acting like these…
Another SegaNet survivor, respect.
Well at least these people have stuck their necks out and revealed themselves. Now let’s make sure they’re all investigated, lest they try to copycat their hero. I can almost understand why some people felt sorry for the Menendez brothers—at least if they believed the stories about their father abusing them,…
I was raised in the 90s, the advent of the Internet. Ive witnessed the most Vile acts of man thanks to the Internet. Being called nigger over Sega online and later Xbox live, seeing humans obsession with vanity as seen on Instagram and snapchat, taliban beheading videos, two girls and 1 cup, reading stats that 53% of…
Haha, do you know what Hippocratic means? That’s a funny typo.
That’s right. It’s an issue of historical context and how that shapes the meaning of the words we use. That word coming from the mouth of a white person has an inherently different meaning than it does coming from a black person. That’s what linguists call the connotative meaning of a word; the meaning it acquires…
I was PM of a project to erect two bridges, each one placed in one day (actually more like one hour). It took over a year of planning, months of fabrication, and days of preparation on-site (it took a week just to assemble the 700 ton crane). We were still nervous until the anchor bolts were torqued down. It can be…
Placement of the prefabbed span wasn’t the issue by itself. It was the complete lack of support on a span that long and that heavy that they left between two abutments. This was a suspension bridge by design and it was left unsuspended to collapse under its own weight. why they didn’t crib it in the median between the…
Oh no, now the Browns will be bad.
The same can be said of the entirety of the west coast. OR would be red without PDX and Eugene, CA would be red without LA and the Bay. And both OR and CA have suburbs like Renton with a crazy amount of Trump folks even fairly close to the urban centers (I’m looking at you, western suburbs of PDX/Washington County).…
So please someone tell me that Brochu is getting served with civil suit papers. That she’s going to be sued by Ms. Rowe so hard that her families forefathers will feel it.
“You guys get on your little fuckin’ knees, and not represent the American flag who made you what you are,”
Racist white people will never not be unattractive as all hell. Like, being white gives you a short shelf life aesthetically as it is. Don’t expedite the process by being a racist bitch.
I just tried it and decided the better explanation is sorcery.
I set the over/under at 7pm tonight that I break my ankle trying this over and over again.
She was an ocean-going tug so traveling from San Francisco to Hawaii wasn’t that unusual. The hull shape isn’t that odd either, any seawater coming in over the bow or sides would flow over the deck and through the scupper holes back overboard. It was imperative that the hatches be kept closed of course!
It’s not mentioned in this article, but the Conestoga was also towing a barge on its way to Hawaii. Regardless of how a boat rides without a tow, that drastically changes the seaworthiness and it’s not something you really want to be going into a gale with if you have a choice.
I don’t really know, but I do love a good Naval fiction. I cringed when I saw the first photo up top, knowing they were sailing that across the Pacific.. My gut says it doesn’t seem like it would be well suited for that journey unless the conditions were perfect (not a gamble I’d like to make).
Someone who knows boats and sailing could probably answer this, but is this kind of ship one that could make the intended voyage from San Francisco to Hawaii? It was a tug that performed duties in mostly coastal waters. I thought deep sea ships had higher sides, at least at the front.
