>2. No one ever mentioned following the kid around.

Couldn't have said it better myself. He will never have a normal life if people keep dreaming up what-if's to continue scrutinizing him.

It's obvious the kid has heard about the shooting, which is most likely why his thoughts shifted to that, because it's still fresh in his mind as a very heinous act and wanted to use that for the shock value. As for "eating their still beating hearts", did you never grow up watching some overtly violent movies that

Warning: Possible [Emi route] mild spoiler ahead.

Karen! Now I need to go back and rewatch it. >w<

The shop is down again so I can't purchase it. Glad someone's enjoying it. T_T

While I can't agree with his Francis character, that video is inspirational. Everyone should watch it, and I mean everyone.

Did he just do the Numa Numa dance at 12 seconds in?

I've never been a fan of the camera and never liked the look of the light globe accessories. But I have to say, having the light globe quashed into a panel built into the controller looks a lot better and the look of these funny demo games makes me want to get one now.

How about Global Thermonuclear War?

Don't worry, there are plenty of others lining up to fill RIOT's coffers.

Interesting analogy with the neurosurgeon wal-mart greeter. That is comparing apples to oranges a bit. This guy was actually part of the industry he was talking about, albeit at the lowest point on the totem pole.

Honestly, look at the amount of discussion and debate that was generated by this article. Kotaku did a good job publishing this.

Excellent post Nick. I wish you the best in your endeavors.

No offense, but if someone needs to pull 36 hour "days" and sleep under their desk to get a project done, then that's happening because
1) shitty time management
2) unrealistic and shitty deadlines, or
3) being understaffed and overworked.

Trust me, I understand what you are getting at. Unions came to the fore back when coal miners were dying by the droves because the mining companies would fail to do the right thing by not expending the cost necessary to adequately reinforce the mine shafts from collapse and a host of other issues.

I get that it's a sensationalist article with a headline like that, I guess I have standards where this type of stuff just doesn't bother me. To each their own I guess.

The way I see it, AAA game production functions a lot like the film industry. You spin up a lot of resources, make the film, then cut them loose. The one exception here is that the film industry has unions and other support structures that the game industry simply does not have.
