Hence why I mentioned there were “some episodes that specifically told you what to think”? But you can’t honestly point to something like “The Monsters Are Due On Maple Street”, and not come out thinking like it respects you intelectually? You can make your own interpretation, depending on where you stand…

I mean, it wasn’t “terrible”, but hamfisted and heavy-handed. Sure, some of the original run had that had that “here’s what you should think” on the nose message but it was delivered more gracefully. The magic appliance was pretty derivative, as well. It was fine, I wouldn’t call this one a classic, not by a long shot.
