That’s a nice conclusion you’re jumping to. Where’d you pick it up at?

How about I put it this way, It’s not so much that I’m extra trusting, it’s that I don’t trust anyone and am not surprised a couple dealership employees did this.

I have a habit of doing that. I drive a ‘96 Regal and my wife drives a ‘99 Grand Cherokee with a salvage title. Maybe that’s why I don’t care what people do to my cars or other’s.

Do they take their laptop to Taco Bell? If not I fail to see how this is relevant.

THE PATH TO ULTIMATE BALANCE BEGINS HERES...

Exactly. Everything I’ve said I stand behind and would be totally cool with my mechanic picking up Taco Bell in my car because I trust him. If I didn’t trust him enough to get Taco Bell on a test drive then I wouldn’t trust him to work on my car.

They should be billed job rate regardless of how long it took.

So you’d rather get your car back with a fault and have to take it back again then a dealer be more thorough with making sure the problem is resolved? Ok. As for the gas you should’ve demanded they fill it back up. They have a credit card for that.

True, but that is a pretty big fact to ignore. I imagine his car always smells like Taco Bell.

Yeah, if they said they had so much as spun the tires or went on a high speed run then I’d say you have a decent reason to be upset but knocking out a test drive while picking up lunch is stupid to get worked up over.

What the hell is this? Are you reading Jalopnik on an AS/400? You’re supposed to drive customer’s cars, you know that right?

Why? I didn’t berate him for having his parents pay for his braces and probably or help with his car. If you’re telling me someone who lives in California and works at Taco Bell can afford a car that’s not a complete beater, braces, and dealer service rates is not having their income supplemented you’re full of shit.

Completely agree. I know and trust my mechanic and would be perfectly fine with him driving the 3.3 miles one way these guys did and picking up some taco bell. If you look at the route it’s basically right on and off the highway and back again.

Well if you care that much about other people playing your steam games you should uncheck it before dropping it off or fix it yourself.

Lol, no. I just trust my mechanic a lot more than this guy does. I’d love it if my mechanic took my car on a 20 mile test drive. Better have worked everything out if he’s being so thorough.

Again, if the owner cares so much he should be taking his car to a real mechanic or working on it himself.

Then go to a better mechanic that’s not a stealership.

Here’s my problem, the only thing they have evidence of is they deviated from a standard test drive route. If I trust you to fix my car, to make sure my brakes work and my wheels are bolted on and to make sure I leave with oil in the engine then I trust you enough to let you pick up taco bell while doing a test drive.

How would I play your steam games if I don’t know your password? And what if your problem was your videocard overheating?

That’s those $15 an hour minimum wage rates they’re fighting for. Plus he’s got braces so he is probably supplementing his income somehow, likely from parents.
