I’m from Kentucky and have lived here all my life. I can tell you why we don’t trust autonomous cars.

I have a 2016 Mazda6 and my wife has a 2013 Mazda CX-5. Both cars have the “Nav” button. Doesn't bother me. I have a smartphone for a reason.

This stupid piece of junk:

What if the Sentra was a test-car for autonomous vehicles from Nissan and you never even realized it was driving itself?

Plenty. Oil crisis was a major one. I’d say the self-driving Google car blobs will be a pretty big setback for “cars.”

This could not be more self-centered and arrogant. Way to generalize the entire world! A blanket ban of vehicles is impossible to say the least. How will goods get to and from places? Teleportation? What about the vast majority of the world that doesn’t live in a city? If they have a fleet of zero-emission autonomous

Mine.

Before the ‘13 CX-5 she drives now, my wife had an ‘06 Chevrolet Malibu LT. It had the 3500 V6 and the millennium-old four-speed automatic. Build quality and interior materials were abysmal, as was the driving experience. Ah, pre-bankruptcy GM (or “Old GM” as they call it when trying to avoid repairing older models).

I have my heart set on a 6 to replace my aging 2008 Mazda3. I’m going to test drive a few this weekend. There’s a leftover 2015 Touring that I can get for the price of a 2016 Sport.

My 2008 Mazda3 has been super easy to work on. We replaced two door lock actuators and had the door panels off and the actuators out in twenty minutes. Brake light switch took five minutes - reach under dash, unplug old unit, plug in new unit. Passenger side upper motor mount took about thirty minutes - move coolant

Damn, some of those cars just crumbled. Scary shit. That Volvo is a tank! I knew they were strong cars but damn.

People who buy “American.” Too bad most “American” cars have less U.S.-sourced parts than many “foreign” ones (I.E. Chevy Cruze with 40% U.S. parts content vs. Toyota Camry, built right here in Kentucky where I live). People have complained that they don’t like their GM products, but that’s all they’ll buy. I know a

My Mazda3 was a dealer courtesy car before I got it and I found a lady’s clip-on ponytail hair extensions in the center console.

Proud owner of a ‘95 S10 4x4. 20 years worth of scratches, dings, and overall GM cheapness. But the 4-wheel-drive works and we love it. It’s already proven itself immensely useful time and time again.

My wife had an ‘06 Malibu that would randomly lose power steering under acceleration as well. It also had about a million other little problems. Horrible , horrible car. But that “3500” V6 was decently quick. It'd be a good LeMons candidate!

Prius.

I had a 405 a few years back. Never gave me any troubles. Pic:

There's a white first-gen MR2 around the corner from my house. We have lived here for three years and I've never seen it move.

I want an update on how much damage the car incurred.
