What’s the name for this persuasion technique where you state an unproven premise as fact and then move on to the next step, thereby shifting focus away from the need to prove the premise?  Whatever it it is right wing media uses it like a teenage boy uses Kleenex.

I’m amazed he’s getting away with referring to our losing record. I remember the lengths “patriots” used to go to to preserve our “undefeated” status; Korea was a “police action”, not a war, Vietnam was a tie, and 1812 was forgotten.

I don’t know why people are acting surprised about Gaetz’s shading of the military. Republicans only love the military when the military provides fodder for their Rambo and G.I. Joe fantasies. They won’t see it in much the same way an alcoholic won’t see a liver function test result as pertaining to their drinking. 

The GOP has been very effective at sending the message that anyone and everyone not in the GOP is the enemy. Jesus Christ could appear, flaming Sword of Truth raised high, empowered by the full Wrath of God on the Day of Judgement and they would tell Him to GTFO as he cast them to Hell.
