I’ll disclose right away that I didn’t get many pictures and video of the cars in attendance as I was showing my kiddo around the event.
I’m in Amherst Ohio with my little one and tomorrow is DSM Shootout day. Therefore the Mirage has to look good since the DSM is still awaiting parts.
It’s the weekend of the DSM Shootout. Expect lots of pictures. Just saying. This is like Christmas to me. To make it more special this is going to be the first year my daughter (she turns 7 next weekend) gets to go. She’s excited and I’m excited to take her. Gahhhh!!!
You asked for sound clips and and we delivered. We discuss plans, show what it takes to do a serpentine belt and custom intake on a Mirage. Also we shout out Oppo and thank those of you that regularly read and comment on this car.
I didn’t get my camera up in time for a side shot. I got it launched as soon as I could. Absolutely stunningly good
Yes she is. Stock metrics:
Base IATs at idle for 10 minutes were 176 before the wrap. Let’s see what happens tomorrow. Intake isn’t on yet but I got bored and did this. Took two hours and it’s FAR from my best work but there isn’t a lot of room to maneuver my gigantic hands around the wiring and such. It’s sticking and it’s there.
So I’ve gone completely mad like the idiot that I am. I’ll be buying some BC coilovers and RPF1s for the Mirage soon. I’m wrapping those in some aggressive Advan tires. I’m seeing my car has a solid torsion beam rear suspension. I’m wanting to add about 2 degrees of camber to the front and a bit in the rear to try to…
As mentioned in my last piece. Here is a teaser to step one of Sunday’s mods.
Yes you read that correctly. I’ve decided to mod the Mirage with some basic and not so basic upgrades. More power is needed for me, as well as some more capable handing.
Nathan is the wrench behind the Powershift and he’s also taken on one of the coolest projects we’ve ever had. Our buddy Bruce has a very clean E90 335i that is quite extensively modified. Upgraded twin turbos, big fat intercooler, the whole nine yards.
I went ahead and added a center console armrest since mine didn’t have one, and as far as I’m aware they can’t be purchased with them anyhow. This one has storage underneath the lid so I finally have somewhere to stow my wallet. Super easy install and even looks nice. The Mirage is now a luxury car. I rest my case ;)
It does feel quite good to be back if I do say so myself. I’ve been away busy with work and just life in general. Today, I’m going to present a review on a car that seems to be rather unloved. I looked around and only found basic snippets.
Yes, yes it is. Just spent a large undisclosed amount of money to finish the winter restorations/improvements. I put it under months back for a timing belt, weak brakes and driveline mounts being toast.
Hello all, it’s been a minute but I’ve finally gotten a free second to put a sliver of thought into this. I’ve had the Mirage coming up on a year; so I’ve decided I’d take you through what this year has brought me with the car.
It really is now officially haha
Winter doesn’t stand a chance this year. Just saying.
Please, talk me out of this. My new job and move has opened up some doors for me. My Mirage is staying, as is my Talon. My Mirage has earned its’ place and been a best friend over this last year. It’s also about to be paid off.
Ahhhh yes, today I had a chance to spend some time in a Ram Big Horn, a truck I’d been wanting to drive for some time. This truck is a special one though; it’s special because it belongs to my father. He’s been wanting a Hemi Ram for years, and after much trial and tribulation with the VA he’s finally realized that…
