As someone that always looks into the future, deciding project cars is an emotional and important choice. I’ve deliberated back and forth and hadn’t really made any solid decisions; until last night.
My right hand man Nathan did the service one today on my Mirage; Amsoil Signature 0w20, an extended life filter and basic inspection. So he decided to bring a quick welding project he did to show me. He welded for a living for some time and hadn’t messed with it in a bit.
I’ve put 12,000 miles on the Mirage and I’m closing in on a year of ownership with it. Today I will go in depth about the ownership experience of the much hated Mirage.

My relocation is over. Finished. Done. Exactly as Raymond Calitri from Gone In 60 Seconds would say. That means it’s time to focus on my 1G Talon again; and I’ve wasted no time. Literally none.
A tiny bit over a month ago I started my new job in Dayton Ohio, relocating 135 miles from everything I’d known. Finding rentals wasn’t easy, and I had to set up shop in a weekly rate hotel. Thankfully the hotel is in a great area, but there’s some less than savory characters here to say the least.
I laughed out loud. This is me summed right up.
More than just a few days of racing, this weekend every year signifies the coming together of a large family. The fastest 4 cylinder cars in existence all converge upon the grounds of Norwalk Ohio; they are joined by the monsters we know as the R35 GTR.
Just like last year, I’m your DSM Shootout guide. This year is very special because the world famous 1320 video will be there providing coverage. Expect insanity. Bonus Mirage pics inside.
My best friend, my right hand man, and my MVP of the day just sent me these photos of a new RAM. Take notice to the 8 lug wheels and the crazy front suspension arm setup on the last photo, zoom in on it.
Well, used to hauling Amazon and other basic stuff. Last night I hauled this:
Don’t crucify me, took the pictures driving so couldn’t rotate my phone. Had historical plates so not sure if it was a real car or not. Not super well versed on these. Spotted outside Dayton Ohio.
By this point you all know me; I’m the guy that owns old Audi, Maserati and other obscure cars throughout time. I’ve been in the DSM scene for ages and have written all about that as well. I currently own a beautiful 90 TSi and my buddy Nathan and I have tons of friends with DSMs.
At Applebees where I took myself and the girlfriend on a day date.
That is all.
Three weeks straight without being home or stopping. Running until Tuesday or Wednesday and start my new job on Monday the 23rd. It’s bittersweet in a way honestly; leaving behind the known for the unknown.
Alrighty, here’s my rant of the day. Dealing with people on properties is the absolute worst. Trying to find a rental property in the Dayton/Fairborn/Huber Heights/Tipp City Ohio area is quite frustrating.
Well I got lucky for once. I’m typically plagued with the worst luck of anyone on this planet. I caught a break though, and got a phone call I’d dreamed of getting.
Got these solid engine mounts from a buddy of mine that were rusty but trusty. The first picture was after lots and lots of wire wheel activity. My daughter decided she wanted to get dirty with a wire brush and scotch brite, so this happened.
