Maybe I need more time to watch this, but…

I really wish SU had more episodes end like "Cry For Help" did. That was really refreshing.

Sorry, one more post. Let me go to the tail of season five for a few more instances. Think about "Lemonhope" and "Bad Timing," two of the series' best offerings.

It's not this way all the time, but there's significant variation in what to expect from the end of an episode and whether or not they put a bow on it. Steven Universe is absolutely not that way.

You have lots of gag eps, but then you also have undeniably bleak shit, or at the very least leave you feeling a little empty. "You Forgot Your Floaties." "Astral Plane." "Evergreen." And, particularly, "Friends Forever."

have you been straight up not watching it lately or something

It's not about the lyrics.

I feel really weirded out by people saying that Steven in drag was "ridiculous" or "funny." It seemed triumphant and empowering more than anything else, and his realization that he really wanted to do it was rather beautiful.

And yeah, this episode is, alas, the second in a row that reminds me of my main qualm with Steven Universe: things are solved just too easily. The conflict is always that someone isn't saying something, and that's always the entire resolution. I demand more bummers, because these emotional moments feel more and more

Where the guitar's at in the mix and how its strums bounce along is "Party"'s main gimmick. It doesn't sound like Miley in particular, but it does sound like that song more than probably anything else.

So…the song was basically "Party in the USA" reincarnate, right?

I'm really glad they played Steven in a dress straight, no gag.

I don't think it's possible for a Sadie-centered episode to evoke a B minus feeling from me. I don't care about anyone's – anyone's! – happiness in this show as much as I care about hers.

A lot of people were underwhelmed by "Get Schwifty."

Question: WHY IS IT NOT DIFFICULT TO STAND UP IN THE PERFECT SPHERE OF A BUBBLE

I think the fear that Connie would join a gang is the closest this show has come to reminding me that Connie might have different experiences growing up as a young woman of color.

wendy calls these her little dippers

"oh my goodness, everyone is using one of the most commonly found shapes in all of geometry, conspiracy!"

gosh, dipper, i-i-i'm real sorry about that. y'know, you don't have to be so hard on me, really reaming into me all the…all the time
