Everything seems so “every man/woman/child for themselves” about American government policies, to me. Little thought about a population as a larger social organism, and how each person’s individual situation adds up to impact the others.

Yeah, but is there an age limit on growing and changing? I’m only a few years younger than Kim, and I’m still learning and changing and getting to know myself, so I try and extend the same grace to others.

The shocking thing (to me) is telling a woman that she “wanted” to be roughed up while she was unconscious. I don’t really see how it being in answer to a question, or not, makes any difference?

Honest question: What would you like to see happen? Would you advocate “rescuing” adult refugee women from their marriage, just as we would a child bride? What if the women say they'd like to stay in the marriage?

I’m so sorry that happened to you, and that your husband reacted so poorly. I’m not sure how to word this in a way that doesn’t make you feel worse, but does he care that the incident upset you?
