There appear to be New Republic T-85 X-wings in the trailer. And apparently Kaz is a New Republic pilot that gets recruited by Poe.

So do they ever make any references to the New Republic, or is that just something the sequel-era shows and movies are going to pretend never existed?

More often than on Star Wars Rebels, Resistance feels like a Saturday morning cartoon aimed at kids.

Dave Filoni—best known to Star Wars fans for his role in producing the animated series Clone Wars and Rebels—will direct the pilot with Rogue One cinematographer Greig Fraser behind the camera.

Sounds like the first episode of that Live Action Star Wars series is going to be a MUCH WATCH for me. I love Dave’s work on the animated front so I’ll be interested to see how he handles directing in live action. Maybe this is a sign that they’re considering him for more involvement in that front.

Rob Paulsen is a legend. Same with Jess Harnell (if you’re reading, dude, loooooove the hair). Also, if the kids annoy you by not knowing Animaniacs, think about it... they have to learn it SOMETIME. And by and large, the kids love it! A whole new generation will love Animaniacs! This is an unambiguously good thing! :D

Aside from the “excited” part, I do agree that this trailer makes the show more appealing than any of the previous DC Universe trailers. Bearing in mind that DC Universe is following up with Swamp Thing and Doom Patrol, I’m not sure that instant name recognition has anything to do with it.
