I may be daft — the crossed-sword circle-symbol hanging featured in this scene is the same as in the terrorist kidnapper tent in Iron Man 1. Has much bben made of there being a connection between the Mandarin and these terrorists? Is it implied that Killian was behind that group years ago, and they happened to be a

You know, that is a huge money maker idea in all seriousness... Really.

Does the exchange in the Firefly episode "Objects in Space" count as a 4th wall breaking meta-joke?:

I agree - I feel like it'll be this year's "John Carter of Mars" - a GREAT series with strong literary fans, but not super well known to the general moviegoing populace. A huge CGI film that, no matter how good, will be overlooked. :(

LOL I have been taking the numbers as levels of fan popularity. Eric and Pam are 1's....Tara a 3, Steve Newlin lower, etc... Haha

I totally agree - I wonder if age is an issue? It's been up and down over the decades having her be so well established she's clearly older and "seen the world" - which loses that youthful spunkiness and thirst for adventure. (the opposite for Jimmy, who for what seems years, never seems to progress in his abilities).

I am just catching up now with Fios On demand - I say that detail only because the Axe Astronaut commerical plays over and over and over and over - making the title of this post HILARIOUSLY diegetic!

I agree 1000% - I believe the future of the comics/media movement will be just that — DC for TV/net, Marvel for big movie features. I feel the general public doesn't discern the way we nerds do ("DC" vs. "Marvel" divide is simply "comic books"), so it'll work.

I wonder if there will be a "pocketa...pocketa..." reference...?

Does anyone else get that warm tingle thinking: I remember this as required reading in elementary school. I suppose everyone had to read it? Who decided THAT story was required reading?

I JUST picked up Chris Hardwick's "the Nerdist Way", and found this article as a companion piece to the beginning. Since io9 commenters are so on top of things - a discussion question:

...by rocked - I mean "pleasantly restored" - that didn't sound correct. I mean I would support it. :)

My faith in the entertainment biz would be rocked if there were a Peggy Carter feature. The synergy of awesome character and perfect casting is in the vein of the original Iron Man/RDJ, and it would be a waste of talent not to have her have as much screen time as possible. Unless, of course we're talking SERIES of

Speaking of Einstein, what do you think of the "his wife was not involved in the Theory of Relativity" idea put forth in an io9 article by Lauren Davis last year?

Sure, there will be hiccups, but this game announcement presents that childlike wonderment that fuels the shows ongoing appeal. Woot.

A fun game to play along with this far superior season is to watch and wonder in what scene Jessica is vlogging. (they're posted on the "babyvamp Jessica" site and tie in deliciously). You start noticing she is very good at finding laptops in the middle of the crazy to tie in very "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern" moment

Now, why would anyone be wary of a mode of hyperspeed transportation whose schematics are written in Comic Sans?

Leaving the hair OFF that thin-lipped media eccentric yields "Grant Morrison."

I second that! Orphan Black is the far superior story compared to ...I guess — yawn — Andrew Garfield's lip-acting and yet another Spider-man detail.

How are people watching this? Has it been released yet?
