"What's the movie called?"
"The Irishman."
"Who did you cast?"
"Italians, primarily. Why?"

I'm a converted Alexa fan after the last two weeks. She works really well as a heel, and the Nia angle has the potential to be delicious. (Also, my wife adores her, especially as a counterpoint to Bayley, whom she refers to as Lisa Frank). I've noticed I find myself caring more about the women's storylines which I…
I still think the End Titles are a cyberpunk kick in the pants. Love it for driving late on the freeways at night.
Can I just say that I'm delighted to share O'Neal's passion for this movie. It's one of the few that I can vividly recall the first viewing of, as a ten-year-old who stumbled across it one night on HBO, when my parents had gone to sleep and I was staying up past my bedtime. Pulled in by the cool-ass title "Blade…
Exactly. Literally the entire point of the movie is the nature of what makes a human a human, and I think the beautiful conclusion is that it just doesn't matter - what matters is that we recognize that life is precious no matter what form it takes.
I once saw a cocktail book from I think either the late 1910's or early 1920's and it was amazing how many of them were literally just combining different types of brown alcohols together with a splash of liqueur.
I am totally classing up the breakfast booze by calling it a Golden Spike from now on.
Ah. Well, then, I think "scandalous" is an appropriate word here. Also, "ew".
Seems like making a screwdriver the old-fashioned way would be a helluva lot easier, but I'm not in show business.
I wasn't aware "yachting" was considered scandalous in the 30's. Or was it drunken sexy yachting?
She was certainly terrific in Logan. Reminded me of the first time I saw Millie Bobbie Brown in the (admittedly pretty terrible) BBC show Intruders - just an amazing ability to convey depth beyond her years.
"Danger's a little like Jell-O. There's always room for a little more."
Goddammit, they've done everything right (with the exception of casting Leto) to get me actually wanting to see this movie, which I was militantly opposed to when I first heard it was a thing.
True story: me and a few buddies once took a road trip to California in high school, and we realized about an hour into it that the only music anyone had brought was the cassingle of "Get Outta My Dreams (Get Into My Car)". We played nothing but that (and the side-B remix!) there and back, 6 hours both ways. It became…
I still use "That train has sailed" in everyday conversation. I think the first movie is a stone cold classic that's still as funny today as it was when it was released.
So, is Jericho full-on retiring, or is this just a long hiatus to focus on the band? I've heard both. I certainly hope he comes back eventually, he's long been one of the most entertaining superstars in wrestling.
"Vol. 2 can only be as irreverent as it is broadly and shamelessly derivative"
YES.
I've been an AV Clubber for a long time, and I literally just realized they have WWE coverage about a month ago. It was like finding a present under the tree the day after Christmas.
Agreed. Pleasantly surprised, loved the Jericho win (although I'm guessing that's gonna be moot 18 hours from now) and the Neville/Aries match.
