It's just as painful every time. Never before in a video game have I felt bad for the character when she died.

But he can say "we're working on getting the game to where it should've been" instead of "recovered." That's just a continuation of that horrible, PR-infested "this isn't DRM" language they've been throwing.
They should also take out swastikas and replace them with Nazi-like symbolism just to be extra safe so that no one thinks Bethesda supports the Nazis.
My only and original point is that you can't pin everything on parenting. Good parenting always helps and bad parenting very often makes it much worse, but in extreme cases like this, I don't think it's reasonable to say the parent should've seen it coming.
lol. You clearly don't know what a psychopath is, since you're insisting that parenting can prevent a psychopath.
Um, what? Again, you read what you want and create straw man arguments.
Once again, there's only so much you can do. There was the case where a 15 year old's parents wouldn't buy him Halo 3, so he acquired it himself behind their backs. Once they found it, they took it away and he shot both his parents.
I see you spent lots of effort throwing out the only Australian thing you knew.
I'm not taking parenting out of the equation, nor did I ever, just refuting the statement that parenting is the sole responsibility.
What? No. A psychopath is a psychopath. You're born with that disorder, as people are with sexual preferences, like pedophilia or homosexuality.
Or you keep reading what you want to read.
Kids threaten their parents with all sorts of things all the time. If your teenager is throwing a tantrum and threatens to kill you, that's not something normal people will take seriously.
"And when the father heard the kid threaten to kill her mother, are you kidding? He said he "didn't take it seriously". In what fucking world does a kid threatening death on their parents equal unforeseen consequences when he follows through?"
Did I say parents can't shape their child? I said parents can't stop a psychopath and a pedophile. People are born with that wiring. Stop reading what you want to read.
Because driving is the same thing as holding a human-made object designed to for nothing but killing.
Parents don't cause any of those things. At best, parenting merely worsens them, but doesn't cause the presence of those traits. Most of these video game related violent crimes involve kids with reasonably normal parents.
So you had good parents, good for you. If a kid sneaks off to the woods and kills animals and lies to his parents about it, there's only so much you can expect them to be able to do. I had parents that tried and still try to control as many aspects of my life as they can, and all it does is make me hate spending any…
But parents should almost never be the final verdict in these cases. What about the parents who denied their son Halo 3, and when he bought it behind their backs, they took it away and he shot both of them, killing his mother?
Because there are things that parents can't control. Most of the people who murder over games have deep psychological issues that deal with their brain's wiring, not parenting.
Well parenting is definitely part of it.
