Because most Gamestops aren't like that.

I agree. It looks painfully amateurish.
What seemed to start as an intelligent comment by someone deep within the industry devolved into an opinionated rant. For shame.
It's a bit high headed to imply that the problem is the consumers, not the developers. Crisis 3 is a shadow of Crisis when it comes to that sandbox freedom that was easily the best part of Crysis (gorgeous graphics and environment aside).
This. I got a 3DS near launch, was severely disillusioned by Nintendo's lack of communication early on and the price drop and swore off the 3DS after selling it. 2 years later I find myself craving a 3DS and the great software library 2013 is going to offer.
What we really should be petitioning for is for JRPGs to stop butchering the English language. After all, I'm sure if Western devs gave their games awkward titles stringing together Japanese words that have no business being together, Japan would probably get their panties in a bunch.
What makes you any better to judge anything on Kotaku comments?

That's the usual course of action for emotional internet commentators. Sustaining a logical discussion is impossible for them.
"To answer your earlier point. I don't see why an argument can't be emotion-driven an also intelligent. "
Being emotionally involved in the cause does not have to translate to an emotion-driven argument. Let me give you examples of emotion-driven arguments:
It's not sexist to acknowledge that she doesn't approach sexism in a logical or thought out way. Her remarks on sexism are always emotion-driven and never have an objective approach.
You only have to spend hundreds if you want the absolute best. I have a $700 laptop that runs current games at better settings than console games.
The biggest reason I don't like it is because it's a complete rip-off by a bunch of opportunistic mediocre game developers who, on top of having a completely unoriginal drive behind the game, let their VERY temporary success get to their heads and acted all high and mighty when confronted with their flaws.
It's almost...sexist, in a roundabout way.
