Well said. The past few years, I’ve only been buying clothes from thrift stores or getting them at clothing swaps. I have plenty of clothes that are in good condition. The only things I'll buy new are socks and underwear. 

I didn't read it that way. There are some absolutely horrible genetic diseases that leave people suffering and then dead at an early age. I don't think it's a bad thing to prevent those.
