My only advice is to cheerfully set your boundaries and play dumb if he gets upset.

Can confirm. I’ve gotten the heaving breathers before. One of the reasons I never answer my phone in English in India unless I know who is calling.

I’ve been to Shibam! So beautiful. Yemen’s mountains just blew me away. I normally don’t like cities but I liked Sanaa. Early on someone described the houses as gingerbread and that was all I could see. Plus the stained glass!

I wear a pendant and last time I went through, the TSA lady told me to turn the necklace around (so the pendant was on my,back not my,chest). She said I should always do this so they don’t have to pat down my chest if the jewelry sets something off.

Yes! Giving produce is one of the great joys of my life.

That sucks! Always an ego prick too. But just think now you can focus on the people who are into you!

Trying to stop eating so much junk food but it’s my go to stress reliever. Compromise through trying,to find healthy snack options.

I lived in Sanaa about 10 years ago. This is breaking my heart.

Trying to decide whether or not to work a 3 month work gig in the fall. I signed a year contract with two such blocks and I’m halfway through the first one. Broccoli, tomatoes, lettuce. Was growing peas this winter but not sure they’ll keep growing well with the heat (I’m not in the US, so am on a different growing cycle) Also growing basil because I want to try to make pesto.

Something tells me those politicians that crowed about states rights all those years will not be happy about this move.

Good! They should! Teachers are not paid enough for the work they do.

THANK YOU! Such a great read and love hearing about these movements around the world. We shall overcome!

Caught this last night online. Was actually kind of horrified. In addition to being racist that joke is so so old!

I live in North India but I’m currently in Nepal.

Not to mention, male leaders trying to drive our customs or traditions that empower women like matrilinieal inheritance

They were both Indian citizens I believe in the USA in work visas.

I think it would be easier if white women just claimed their white womenhood more. For example, my problem is when someone says “Women make 73%* of what a man makes.” No actually WHITE women make 73% of what a WHITE man makes but people assume white is the default and deserve to be called out for that.
