I wish we could get another “Duel of the Fates.”
I wish we could get another “Duel of the Fates.”
Hoping Williams and Powell recall riffs from “The Asteroid Field” in this score. To me, that music has always been Han Solo’s coolest moment.
No? Like living in an economically depressed area doesn’t make assault better?
chapterOflife pretty much just covered everything I would have said, and a bit more, had I seen this reply earlier.
Also, you refuse to believe that animated series and other forms of media are official canon despite their literally being official canon?
...alright...
The casino planet was really the only major misstep of the movie, to me. It felt like it was dropped in from Attack of the Clones.
Well, they can’t say “rebel fucks.”
you are missing the point about interdictors and it doesn’t matter what you consider canon or not(do you only consider lord of the rings movies to be canon? what about the harry potter movies are the books even canon?). They are being mentioned because they have the gravity wells which btw:
1) have had widespread use…
I’d imagine the Y-wings at least would have been discarded from use. They were leftovers from the Clone Wars. So you’d imagine some of those frames would be pushing over 50-60 years old? During ROTJ They’d be about what, 25-30 years old at that point?
But yea, I was hoping for some B-Wing love.
Interdictors are mentioned in the “canon” animated series Rebels, and play a pretty key role in most SW games (pre-disneyfication). Smaller ones based off an Enforcer-class light cruiser hull, larger ones using the ISD hull.
Yes, they are in Rebels, which is canon
Interdictors are ships in the star wars canon that prevent other ships from using their hyperdrive. They are used in the movies so it’s not “some science terms”. They work, as described, by creating artificial gravity big enough to prevent ships from doing their hyperspace thing.
The fan backlash has been significant enough that the filmmakers thought it was appropriate to comment on the matter. But ok. Not trying to say that RT is the word of God. Merely pointing out that quite a few people did not like the movie. But way to latch onto one statistic and ignore the rest of my point.
No one’s “whining” about the casino - They’re pointing out a factual issue with the film. The scene(s) felt comically out of place in an otherwise FANTASTIC movie. It ground the narrative to a halt. The whole “animal rights/we’re oppressed/casino planet” BS was cringeworthy, and you know it. It felt like it belonged…
Also, no need for name-calling. Everyone has their own opinion of the film. This one has clearly been divisive (56% audience approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes). Fair to say a lot of people didn’t connect with the material. Anyway, the whole point of my post is that plot holes aren’t what’s ruining the movie for…
Clearly you don’t get it if you think plot holes are the problem. Also, no need to call people dongs. We’re all allowed to have our own opinion about the film. Obviously a lot of people didn’t connect with this one (56% audience approval rating on RT). To each his own.
Are you seriously trying to compare all the character and plot development that occurred in ESB to the absolutely nothing that happened in TLJ? lol.
People keep bringing up this is a movie about failure to somehow shield it from criticism because it somehow is breaking new ground... but Empire was about failure. In fact I’d say Empire is even more about failure because they actually failed. Han captured, Luke defeated.. you know failure. People died in Last Jedi…
