Hey, that’s a great idea. Maybe that school should have made the uniform for girls “shirt tucked into belted pants and a tie.” Just like the guys. Any particular reason the girls had to wear skirts and specific underwear?
How many of those rules apply to both genders, and how many apply to only one gender? Are there a lot of boys showing up in short skirts, tube tops, or halter tops do you think?
And you’re damned if you do, damned if you don’t. You have to wear a bra, but no part of the bra can be visible and we can’t know you’re wearing it but we can’t know you’re NOT wearing one ...
My daughter somehow has this magic dress-code defying power. Like, a teacher will ask her “Are those shorts in dress code?” and she says “nope” and keeps on going. She got a violation one time and now they’ve just given up or something. She’s skinny and all arms and legs and there’s no “fingertip length” shorts to be…
You know, my daughter has on a few occasions gone to school in this:
Lying about getting racist hate mail ... well, not lying about getting it, but putting it in your own mailbox doesn’t count.
I find myself a little concerned about the two hugging men. I really hope neither of them peed on a stick and got a result.
I am mailing that poor man an umbrella and some hip waders ASAP.
I’m missing where it says her new appointment was a “few days” earlier. The last time I scheduled a mammogram, they had no openings until the middle of the next month. Six weeks was not a problem for me because I didn’t have anything that concerned me. But if I’d had a lump I’d absolutely want to get their first…
Not this year, but there’s quite a few already inducted. Connie Willis, James Tiptree Jr., Anne McAffrey, Octavia Butler...
I love this picture because it makes the “hall of fame” exhibit look really fancy. It’s neat and interactive, but it’s smaller than this photo makes it look.
Come see it! I’m a volunteer there. It’s a neat place.
I love the way she characterizes the dragons; they’re very non-human intelligent creatures. But some of the later books are a horrible slog because they’re just “oh no, a mishap has landed us in this strange country, let’s try to escape while learning all about how they treat dragons”. I usually love worldbuilding,…
There’s one more book to go, I think.
I was kind of rooting for it to end in a tri-lationship, honestly.
I am seriously 100% behind lab-grown meat. Not only does it solve the problem of resources being dedicated to growing the whole animal, but anything we can get cells from, we can eat. Whale steak? Tiger? MAMMOTH?
My hair is fine, but fluffy. I’m not sure I have enough hair to do it even if I had the inclination. I’m not very good with hair.
OH MY GOD THANK YOU i have been wondering this for ever.
