If they are good enough they won't usually Be in Support Mode anyway. That's part of the permadeath allure. Play carefully, tactfully, conservatively, so that you Don't land in that position. If a player is spending most games in Support Mode, this is probably not the style of game for them anyway.

Download Pokemon Liquid Crystal. It's a Very well made hack of Emerald that remakes Crystal with the Phys/Special split and a few extras thrown in. I've been Nuzlocking it and it's a blast.
