Oh Ubisoft...
Oh Ubisoft...
Jeez when you put it that way you make this decision look really stupid/.
So the company who only 15 years ago released the first Assassin’s Creed and sold 8 million copies and started a series of which each most recent titles have apparently only sold ~10M copies itself - that company is giving up on a new IP that they’ve admitted was a “healthy commercial success” to focus on franchises…
...as with Monica Gellar’s unfathomably sprawling West Village two-bedroom
OMG when she says about the floor “I use that all the time”...
We don't know how long Lanthanites live for, it's totally possible :)
Now I demand Pelia in Lower Decks.
It made me really want to catch up on Lower Decks before Season 4 starts, because I’ve always been charmed by that show’s energy, even though the pilot wasn’t all that great (...to be fair, across all of Trek, I think the only legitimately good first episode has been DS9's Emissary, and even that’s being generous).
Can we take a moment to note how great the Cerritos class uniforms look in live action. Definitely one of the best looking StarFleet uniforms and they did a great job translating the animation design into a workable uniform costume. Jack Quaid was brilliant as Boimler in live action too.
“Is it a pinup poster?!”
The whole thing was pure brilliance. Giving the Lower Deckers a brief introduction and not just having Boimler pop up was well done. That opening sequence LOL. Pike’s growing frustration was hilarious and I LOVED the scene where Ortegas and Chapel mess with Boimler.
Frakes coining “Spoimler” on Ready Room on the Spock/Boimler bromance. Frakes’ wife screaming upon hearing the ad-libbed “Riker”. Also Nariner’s “Hot Spock” line. Such fun.
One of the best hours of Trek ever - any series, any era.
Hard to say what’s the best part...but part of it HAS to be the double meta reference for Una’s poster—-Ransom’s comment and Una’s outrage over being thinking she was a pin-up girl, given Rominjin’s history as a SI Swimsuit model.
I really enjoyed the “Everyone talks real low and slow here.” Hoping they crossover the other direction and SNW ends up on LD. Not just that little part at the end.
Swings like this are why Star Trek has been knocking it out of the park in the streaming TV department lately.
That was great.
This episode was great. I had a really fun time watching it, and Quaid especially is amazing - he makes the transition from voice-acting as Boimler to portraying a compelling live-action version of him seamlessly, and has great on-screen chemistry with basically everyone in the SNW cast.
Great episode, the moment where Christine realized that her relationship with Spock doesn’t even make it to a historical footnote was genuinely touching. “History needs him to be the exact opposite of what you need him to be in a relationship” is hard to hear.
The best episode of the season , a lot of fun .
