I got really tired of the Clara period, and thought last season especially was uneven (with some really good high points, even so). But this series has been solid. Every episode has been good. No sentient eye boogers, no walking fart joke aliens. Just good, solid Doctor Who.

Honestly, to me, these feel like what the base standard should be for Who episodes, like, the stories are okay, the “monsters” are at least somewhat interesting and the acting is just superb.

Did anyone else catch Bill’s question about regeneration and the Doctor’s awkward avoidance of it?

I imagine it’s not so much what happens behind-the-scenes as what happens in the writer’s room (assuming they have one and it isn’t just manatees).

At approximately 2:15pm today, 217 House Republicans voted to repeal much of the Affordable Care Act, sending their

Y’know, I bet if we ask real nice, we’ll get EMPIRE STRIKES BACK synced to Abbey Road from them...

...what, too much to ask...?

I dont know, he was rather underutilized this season. Probably for the best just to let him go. I just the hope the actor gets a job on a show that uses his talents to the fullest.

I kind of hope we don’t get that episode, as weird as that might sound. It would be a nice subtle thing, him just popping back and doing something like that for Bill as she didn’t have any pictures of her mom. It would be nice to have that occur without it being hammered into our faces. Of course, in truth I expect

It’s amazing how much more pleasant the show is when it’s just the Doctor and the companion jaunting around and solving other people’s problems rather than being the cause or the focus of all the action.

It’s Christopher Eccleston in the vault.

They both looked amazing this episode.

Yes, it was very reminiscent of Torchwood’s Meat and Doctor Who’s own The Beast Below but I enjoyed it immensely. I hope Sarah Dollard keeps writing for the show because she did a great job of taking an overly familiar concept and turning it into a fun 45 minutes of television. The strength of the show right now is,

I hope you are wrong, so very very much.

I’m just loving Bill so much. Her ‘education’ under this prof and her joy and wonderment, it’s like watching Doctor Who with fresh eyes (through her eyes). I really hope she gets to come back for at least one additional season, I mean to get to see all this ‘other-ness’ that exists and not get the cherry on the cake

Pearl, too. Gorgeous Period Dess is gorgeous.

Once again, “Doctor Who” has proven to be bigger on the inside.

Well sure, it’s easily implied, but it feels like given the conversation about the Doctor’s morality, it felt like they were missing a trick not allowing him to be a more complex villain. If him and the Doctor both have a callous attitude towards human life, why is our guy the hero?

This season is three episodes in and has had the strongest start I can remember. Bill is fantastic, the stories are an excellent monster of the week fare with only a mere hint of whatever the Doctor’s promise is and what’s down in the basement. Brilliant.

I see it! <3
