I have no idea how they manage to make a game that look not great yet struggle visually so much when.... gosh, Monster Hunter Rise/Luigi’s Mansion 3/Astral Chain are all things on the consoles and , afaik, don’t have performances issues.

I feel there’s something going on with these graphics that’s more than just

The thing is even if it was made with an hypothetical Switch Pro in mind, I struggle to.... see what would *require* a “Pro” in these graphics???

Like... comparing the graphics of this to Astral Chain or even Luigi’s Mansion 3(which wasn’t even made by Nintendo’s japan studios but a Canadian studio they acquired only

What bothers me there though is looking at the graphic styles.... I really don’t see what should cause a game like that to perform apparently so horribly.

Like... the art style doesn’t seem like something that *should* warrant any strong hardware to run yet the fact that it apparently does is.... concerning, to say the

Like... over 1 million sales would be small for today’s standards of blockbuster.

But a smaller title like what Nintendo showcased don’t *need* more to break a profit I suspect. And all the stuff they showcased in a lot of cases fit the pattern of likely smaller budgets yet being hotly anticipated by their respective

The thing is... they don’t sell but, outside of the more cinematic Prime titles,... it’s possible they don’t need to. Smaller titles means they cost less to develop. Every niches covered by Nintendo’s announcements are all stuff I expect to run a profit *because* they are anticipated by small niches... and likely

That’s the thing with Nintendo’s announcement that you’ve nailed IMO.

Sure in the grand scheme of AAA gaming and copies sold, none of these games should technically be record breaker.
But all of these games were stuff that their respective *niches* had been waiting for since forever. Metroid platformer, Advance Wars...

It’s interesting because Guardians, especially a single player game with some dialogue choices/etc, feel like it would have been a HUGE deal just a few years ago but now I feel like there’s this sort of double-whammy for “AAA cinematic game” AND Marvel’s own stuff in general that it really is not the first time I see

Tbh I think there’s a bit of a fatigue about AAA stuff in segments of gaming. You can see echoes of it from the many comments going about how indies and nintendo had the better surprises this year.

I’ll admit I’m a bit in that category. A lot of the AAA stuff left me rather jaded and it’s only in the aftermath after

Yes, so much.

Like... don’t get me wrong, if the theory of “this is actually an *isekai* retelling of FF1"(the protagonist sound like they might literally come from modern day earth rather than be native to FF1's world) proves true, I might actually mildly amused and curious.

But gosh the COLORS of old final fantasy art

... perhaps even moreso than we might think if the theory that this is an isekai Final Fantasy of “three dudes from literal modern day earth gets dumped into FF1" proves true:

Well that last part suddenly make sense when you look at how traditional the design for Garland seem compared to the protagonist’s clashing aesthetic.... and the fact the whole story might be a literal “What if FF1 was a dark fantasy... isekai?”

So these might be LITERALLY “three guys who are totally not allowed back

Honestly that, and I feel if it’s indeed the case that could be worth the popcorn.
Since I could see a lot of incidental humor, intentional or not, stemming from re: “Three random dudes from literal modern day earth get dumped into the world of FF1 to re-enact the story of the warriors of light”. Especially with the

In this case this might be a rare case of “we made those character design like that on purpose” because there’s a lot of hints this could be.... an isekai.

As in not just “Final Fantasy protagonists straight out of shopping mall clothes store” but rather literally “three dudes from literal mundane modern day Earth gets

I’m curious what Square’s market research is like, and where they’re getting this idea that FF fans want protagonists that are so... bland.”

.... I suspect it’s the kind that tries to appeal to the “west” and just looked “okay, what does the average protagonists look like in Popular Western Game 101. Oh. Okay... I

Tbh the stylistic dissonance might be voluntary in this case. The title is “Stranger of Paradise” Final Fantasy Origin, and there’s art of the characters in what seem to be very.... mundane earth dude clothes.

So what I’m trying to say is that this could *literally* be a FF1 Isekai story of “what if we dumped three

Tbh a lot of these games seemed to be on the “graphical fidelity/realism” end of the AAA spectrum and a consequence of that is that they often cost a boatload of money to make.

Which means they require even more copies sold to make even the slightest amount of profits.
I suspect Avengers had been in that category iirc.

It might literally be an *isekai* parody because there’s art/illustration of the characters and they’re all wearing *very* mundane modern earth human dudes clothes.

So the story might not just be “FF1 parody” but literally “three mundane Earth dudes get dumped into FF1 as it’s ‘warriors of light’” parody.

... tbh I heard the theory that with art of the characters in modern earth clothes AND the title “Stranger in Paradise Final Fantasy Origin”(emphasis on the “Stranger” part for this point) we might not be looking at a reimagining of FF1 but rather an ISEKAI reimagining of FF1.

That “We’re the warriors of light!”

I know nothing about Verum Rex but the title of “Stranger In Paradise Final Fantasy Origin” make me suspect we might not be just looking at a reimagining of FF1, but literally an *isekai* reimagining of it with just literally “three mundane earth dudes” dumped into the world of FF1.

Plus there IS illustrations of all

Tbh it looks like an *isekai* take on FF1(the name “Stranger in Paradise” feels like a very big cue, alongside those character designs) so that could explains.... a lot about what we’re seeing here.

Though that “gotta kill CHAOS” dialogue still feels...
.... uhhh...

I guess I’ll see how it turns out when they have more
