I think this is a fair reading of it. I think he wrote himself into a corner that he can’t come up with a satisfactory way to get out of. He knows the broad strokes of the story he wants to tell, but he can’t get all the pieces from where they are to where they need to be in a way that’s narratively compelling and feels natural.
