I have the original 1-amp USB version of this, which is great for travel. With three outlets and 2 USB ports - as well as the ability to rotate the plug head so you can adjust it to fit - it is a very efficient little charging block. It looks like for the 2.4 amp version they’ve completely changed the form factor, but

On top of all the obvious fuckery over this situation that has been well-noted here...

My family lives in the area, so I actually have to descend upon the DMV for the 4th.  However, we usually stay away from the Mall, so that part should be okay.  But if my Trump-loving father wants to put on the speech and make us all watch it, I may lose it.

I have NEVER felt Syd.  Tonight’s “You never saw me” is kind of infuriating considering the multiple times he went through her life during Chapter 12.  Not saying they have the healthiest relationship, but he saw an awful lot of what made her her.

My husband has not seen Seasons 1 or 2, but he’s watching Season 3 with me (there are a lot of exceedingly short overviews during commercial breaks to explain to him who people are).

Watching Bill Irwin get to flex his significant clowning muscles is just such an utter joy and gift to the viewers.

My late mother had a theory about that, summed up in two words:

While the term “Holocaust” does refer to the systematic killing of European Jews during WWII, the last time I checked, the Holocaust Museum dedicates a very small amount to the non-Jews who were also killed. So this response does not surprise me.

One of my favorite restaurants does a mix of large and small plates - they tend to run in size order from the top to the bottom of the menu list, and you can tell by the pricing and the ingredient listing which ones are smaller than others. But there’s no specific “Small Plate” or “Large Plate” headings, if you’re

I feel like wherever Tim Russert is now, he is slapping Chuck Todd upside the head.

I have a sensitivity to makeup. Doesn’t matter how good/fresh it is or how clean I keep my brushes or what my cleaning process is - if I wear it two or three days in a row, I break out like a teenager. (My doctor said it’s not a full-on allergy, but obviously, my skin just doesn’t enjoy being fussed with for whatever

It was a thing of beauty.

Other things help, too: smiling, using your inside voice, keeping eye-contact, and actually listening all help as well.

Just a two-store local restaurant.  One in St. Paul, one in Minneapolis, neither in malls.  The Minneapolis one shares a building with its noodle-production kitchen.

As a former NW Wisconsin resident myself, I will say that your Woodbury shopping runs would be enhanced by some Ramen Station.  Certainly better than the McDonald’s at the Baldwin exit... ;)

Assuming the letter-writer is American, I’m wondering what part of the country she’s from. Because when I moved to the Upper Midwest - Wiscosnin, then Minnesota - I discovered that tipping well is not really a thing here.

I just got introduced to this by a friend of mine who married into a Chinese family.  SO GOOD.  We went to a really good Chinese restaurant and ordered soup dumplings, mapo tofu, and crispy beef.  GREAT lunch.

I just realized I meant to say “tonkotsu”, not just ramen. I’m all looped out on Mucinex and sleep-deprived with the heinous pseudo-flu going through the Twin Cities right now, so apologies. Of course there are different types of ramen - there’s nothing like a bowl of spicy miso to clear out the sinuses!

Ramen Kazama consistently has great tonkotsu.

I know, right? The Twin Cities actually has a really solid foodie culture - we’ve got all sorts of great stuff. Whenever my friends come to visit from either coast (I grew up between NYC and DC), they are always stunned at how much really awesome food we have here.
