In our European driving schools, we are taught to brake and disengage the clutch at the last moment, just before stopping. That is how I learned to drive. The mighty Internet Tubes of New Zealand are agree with me:

That’s totally right. Happy to see that there are still some reasonable people like you.

Sorry, but NO. There must be hundreds of different ways to cook a burger, but THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY TO CORRECTLY DRIVE A MANUAL CAR, and one of its basic rules is that YOU NEVER COAST IN NEUTRAL. Then you may also never put an anti-slide rubber carpet in your shower box and still have your cranium fully intact, but

But for ten years you did it wrong.

Only ignorant morons destroy clutches. I had eight cars so far with an average of 100,000 km each, and I HAVE NEVER REPLACED A SINGLE CLUTCH DISK. Tells you something?

That’s a lapsus of the writer: he’s clearly talking of a manual gear.

To complete the information, Rude Negro is an ignorant, offensive moron.

Coasting in neutral on a manual gear car, is terribly wrong. If you do not understand why, I cannot convince you. This is just one of the innumerable confirmations of my theory, that pops up first in a Google search (it relates to the automatic gear, but the principle is the same):

Useless consumption of the brakes, of course. When going at slow speed in low gears, it’s enough to lift the foot from the gas to slow down almost to a stop. Then, a short braking and the gear in neutral. I’d add to pull the hand brake instead of keeping the brake pedal pushed, mainly when on an incline... but that is

Indeed Audi is dropping its manual gear versions, most probably because in the USA there are still too many people that don’t have a clue about it:

You don’t understand shit, then this conversation is over.

Because stealing the cars of innocent people is oh, so funny! And maybe killing them as well... I just hope you’re wide enough to well accomodate Bubba’s big tool, and that it happens soon!

What amazes me to no end, is that someone at Repocast took the hassle of taking and publishing 51 (FIFTY ONE!) high resolution pictures of this crap!
