lol yes, RBF and/or big sunglasses serve you well. St Petersburg is a beautiful city but I preferred the modernness of Moscow.

I am so tickled that my comment has nearly dwindled Amazon’s supply in the last 24 hours, glad I went ahead and grabbed a black one! They should be paying me :D

Let’s unite this summer and make it a thing, so other people will start carrying their own shade. I’m a little weird about too much attention but I’ll take that over sunburns or tan lines for sure.

That black on cream one has almost sold out on Amazon, I want to think we can be credited with this. That Totoro one is showing up in my suggestions too.

There are collapsible ones, I found the best ones through just clicking that ‘related items’ toolbar rather than the search. This is what I have, it only folds down to like 20 inches so you can’t fit it into a handbag but it’s not super heavy to carry (ETA it can be collapsed down to purse sized, you just have to snap

There are tons available on Amazon. just double check the description to make sure it has some kind of UV blocking liner.

Amazon has a lot, I linked to mine in the other threads but a lot comes up if you search ‘parasol’.

I’ve never seen them used around here, the Beltway. It’s up to me now.

True, there’s a time and a place, it won’t work where I am now because I pretty much only go outside to do some kind of labor. But walking downtown and to and from class, absolutely. I miss walking places a lot but I don’t miss the surprise spots of sunburn.

Yeah, I spent the first half of undergrad in Asheville, the climate there is really unique. Mountainous deciduous rainforest. Out in the triads....it’s flat and hot. I’m gonna make it a thing, as well as wearing your hair in its natural texture in summer. Trendmaking Tuesday!

NC, and not in the cooler mountains part. Not as bad as SC but still pretty hot in the summer.

Yeah, I don’t really do hats in summer, but I’ve also spent the last few summers in Finland. I’m moving somewhere more humid and hot for school, I figure my wardrobe is already kinda funky so it won’t be out of character, either.

wat

Clearly so. I’m definitely investing in a second one for when I move, I have that near-translucent pale Sami skin and wanna keep it that way.

Yeah, most of the companies are Asian-run that sell them. They have such a pretty selection, mine is reflective but the lace prevents it from being too blinding to other people. I want one of those gorgeous silky looking floral ones for days it might rain, too.

I just want something that doesn’t mess with my hair and offers a little coolness. I’m moving to a warmer climate in August and see no reason to not also own one in navy.

Based on the responses, either giving the bouquet to someone important to you or turning it into a symbolic gesture where no one is ‘chosen’ seems to be the popular route. I’m tied between the cat toss and the fireworks-in-the-bouquet.
