It’s advantageous financially for companies to NOT invest in exploration and drilling, as long as they can jack up prices just doing what they are doing. Oil companies profits rose to $174…

We don’t need more exploration. US oil and gas companies are already sitting on about a decade worth of leases that they haven’t even tapped into. Half of the 13.9 million acres leased, are not currently in production. Don’t buy into the “government is holding us back” story being pushed by the oil lobby.

That’s because drill baby drill doesn’t alleviate prices tomorrow.  Removing sanctions on oil producing countries relives prices tomorrow.  Speculation drives the market, not investment into the oil market.
