Oh, lot’s of people will consider that fat simply because it’s not skinny. That’s our fucked up society.

Christmas and horror has always gone well together, (Christmas eve especially) and not just the whole made up invisible people living in the sky telling us whats right and wrong thing. I’m thinking of stories like A Christmas Carol, the signalman etc. It’s just an oddly spooky time of year. The Krampus film looks…
Have you seen Rare Exports? Maybe try it, too. But I am with you. I hope Krampus is good enough to fit among other Christmas movie favorites.
Yet another reason why Germans are just plain awesome.
Yeah, Krampus as a soul singing goat was perfect.
As an unabashed Del Toro fan... you are wrong. You are so very wrong...
I hate to belabor the point but this has got to be the worst adaptation of a book since, well, Under the Dome. I can’t believe that Del Torro is even associated with this show.
Best line of the week, (with a horde of vampires literally at their gates): “They’re up to something.”
(1) I don’t see why Eph went to all the trouble to get the rifle, as he apparently has only the faintest notion of which way to even point it (something his character even admitted to while giving a “humorous” tutorial at the checkpoint), and to date, he scores nothing but headshots with a pistol.
How can you say nothing happened? I managed to build a whole new section to my tree village in Minecraft while this episode was on!
It would have been nice if the producers or writers had any basic knowledge of New York City. Watching them try to defend Red Hook and get surprised by a bunch of vamps taking the IKEA ferry over was ridiculous. Apparently Governor’s Island doesn’t exist. And, of yes, I’m sure it’s easy to cut off an entire…
This style of show makes me worried for book adaptions of TV shows in general... sometimes you need the flexibility to discard the elements of your shows that just don’t work.
Agree 100%. I’m finally done with this show. The only reason I hung in this long was I figured something had to get better. Terrible writing, plot holes....yikes.
By some freakish coincidence, an episode that does not change anything for any of the characters happened to be my final assignment in Bad Scriptwriting 101. (I made an A-.) If they’re going to do an episode like this, they need to take a cue from The Walking Dead and at least have a likable recurring character get…
As it turns out, I am finally fed up with The Strain’s bullshit. No longer am I charmed by its low-stakes vampire…
I wouldn’t call Xenogensis “optimistic,” but then again, even Bain used quote marks to qualify his statement.
I read this book almost 20 years ago, when I was in middle school. But it was the most mature, philosophical, powerful work of genre fiction I’d read or seen up to that point. I’ve been meaning to reread it as an adult, but I don’t think it’ll be light reading.
This is one of those projects I hear about and I’m excited and thrilled because I’d love to see Butler’s work come to life, especially from someone who apprciates her themes and has the backing of her estate. But I’m terrified because Dawn especially is so dear to me and I’ll be Earthsea level crushed if it gets…
Huh, so it sounds like it’s so early in the process that it will most likely never happen, and if it does, it may not be true to the source material (because who knows what shape it could take at this point).
First, don’t whitewash all the characters of color.
