That’s a good point! Despite this article’s fishing (PENGUIN! FISH! that’s a joke, son!) for fanboy outrage, Oswald hasn’t smoked outside of the comics since the 60's

It’s because it broke out of its “angsty SERIOUS teenage generic CW drama” tv show origins into “absurd over the top hilarious superhero comedy where the writers’ room is clearly doing some of the hardest drugs known to man but gave the even harder drugs to the Doom Patrol writers” TV show. Definitely a lot of charm,

Apparently I’m in the minority of people who actually enjoyed the JJA movies.

And to be fair, big vox populi blockbuster movies have been nominated loads of times. It's just that the Academy really can't stand superhero movies in particular, unless they have pretensions of being something more than a superhero movie, like your Dark Knights or your Jokers.

Did you see him in the third movie? He leaned closer towards that than in the first two. It’s like we skipped over a chunk of character development, but I don’t mind. Sometimes, if it works, we can just accept it.

As an editor, I can’t deny that few people watching the telecast really give a fuck about the category. They made a mistake cutting Hair and Makeup though.

I don’t know much about Hollywood, but I have to imagine that announcing a new movie to be released next year without deals in place for the cast means that everyone’s price automatically goes up 20%. Seriously, is anyone on that cast hurting for work right now?

It’s like when comic Fandom demand faithfulness to the book. The best selling comics sell 50,000 copies. Disney/Marvel or DC/WB want to sell 50 MILLION tickets. They really don't catmre what one tenth of one percent of their audience says.

The thing about pop culture fandoms like the Synderphiles is that for all their volume in certain spheres like Twitter, they are dwarfed by the traditional fanbases of pop stars and movie superstars.

I suspect there is a not insubstantial amount of people voting for Cinderella a notoriously bad film as a way of sending a message and of course for the lulz.

Smallville had a more than long enough run, respect, but I think it is okay for it to be done know, especially since the best character can’t be included due to the actress who played her’s heinous crimes

Thor having a chariot pulled by a pair of regenerating goats named Tanngrisnir and Tanngnjostir is 100% real and part of his source mythology. It might be goofy but it’s a real thing.

Seinfeld has been unabashed of his comic fandom since way back when though. He even displays Superman in his set.

Cavill is British and that whole jocks v nerds trope doesn’t exist to the same degree as it does here in the USA.

He ain’t getting any Hollywood gigs based on his geek credentials. Sure it endears him to a segment of fans, but does it really advance his career in any noticeable way? I seriously doubt it.

I agree..

When did you start hearing about Joe Manganiello and his D&D dungeon? By most accounts I’ve seen the response was universally either ‘well...that’s interesting’ to ‘that’s pretty cool’ to ‘I want that’. Maybe you didn’t hear about Henry’s 40k love because his handlers realized he wouldn’t be a laughing stock for

Isn’t this relatively recent self proclamation as a geek\gamer a bit suspicious.

The old jock/nerd divide is stupid and out of date and really needs to end. Walk into a gym and I can assure you at any time you will find a jack dude in his 20s and 30s who loves Batman, Superman, Dragon Ball, or whatever and inspired them to do it. What is sad is so many of these feelings prevent people from doing

io9’s official policy seems to be “We don’t recap Peacemaker.” Having said that, I really enjoyed it. I think my favorite part of the finale is that it doesn’t leave half a dozen loose threads dangling or end on a cliffhanger to tease a season 2. Everything has a satisfying conclusion IMO. Dozens of other people have
