Yup, eggs are okay. I just hard boiled a few for the week. I love beans and lentils, but I guess I need to see what they do to my sugar levels once I start testing. They have a decent amount of protein, but also quite a lot of net carbs.

Thanks! Yes I eat eggs, cheese, meat substitutes, etc. Mmmm huevos rancheros
Thanks so much! I start testing next week. I am feeling like I can do this.
The holidays always make things tough. I’m still in denial about Christmas coming up. I just refuse to think about it. Take care of yourself as best you can!
I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes at 27 weeks on Tuesday, which was a bit of a shock. Other than age, I don’t fit any of the predicters. Assuming I can get my blood sugar under control, it might end up being a net positive thing. It’s a wake up call and I’m already paying much closer attention to my health and…
Pretty meh. Ella Mai was easily the most stand-out aspect. Some of the sketches were more weird than funny (Thanksgiving song, curn/cornels), but I suppose I can appreciate the weirdness and the cast for going for it.
Same re: Northface on Midwestern campuses 10 years ago. Except I was in grad school so my parents weren’t paying for shit and I couldn’t fathom being able to afford a $250 jacket. Though some of these down parkas, it’s like...add a zero to that price. Sheesh. We had our first snow of the year in Chicago area a week…
Yeah, my mom did most of the parenting, at least M-F, and when my dad buggered off around the globe for various conferences. Thankfully, I can expect much better support from my partner.
My dad worked long hours and my mom was a SAHM, so she did most of the parenting, period. She also had mental health issues including untreated ppd after my brother was born. Not a great situation, and my dad wasn’t blameless in it.
Yes, this. I vividly remember my dad teaching me not to tell lies and how terrible it made me feel about the lie I told, despite him not raising his hand or even his voice. I can’t remember why my mom spanked me and screamed at me most of the time. The only instances I actually remember were completely inappropriate -…
Yeah, I had that test too, ‘cause at 35 I have one ovary in the grave (or something). I was pretty ambivalent about knowing sex before I found out, but now I’m glad I do.
I...had an inverted wedge (the technical name for the Kate Gosselin cut) in the late 90's/early 00's. In my defense, this was before Kate Gosselin was a thing. I wanted hair like T-Boz from TLC! I have never demanded to speak to anyone’s manager ever, I swear!
I just bought boot-cut maternity jeans.
We have four and it is too much. Three was manageable.
Eh, I could see my MIL buying these at a store, though probably not if they’re only on QVC. It combines two of her favorite things: shoes and Christmas. Middle class white people already buy ugly sweaters that they only bust out once a year for Christmas parties. Why not shoes?
Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck
I really need someone to loop the failed drop-kick and set it to yakety sax. Please?
My fav part might be this quote from the defense attorney:
Triangle-faced monkey! Ask Drax!
She hasn’t, apparently, but Kumail Nanjiani hosted last year. Still, very low representation.
