Back in the day, I wouldn't hesitate to call a game like Assassin's Creed "a piece of fucking shit," or to paint its developers as "a bunch of idiots who don't understand game design." These are not hypotheticals—I, like, said that shit. In a video. With my face in it.
Technical Director here... I can safely claim this is accurate.
I worked on a few Assassin (AC2:B, AC2:R, AC3), and yeah... It's not the best series. Hell, even I don't play it much. However, making a game that size any good? Damn, that's some crazy undertaking. AC3 involved around 750 people. Can you imagine the overhead of that?
You know what really bugs me? Who feed them? Where's the toilets in those cells? No bed?
