Most of those ban are from legitimate software spotting. It's not that hard to spot that the memory addresses of your software have been tempered with, or that you have a surprisingly 100% headshot rate for hours. Most cheat are fairly obvious if you know what you're looking for.

Just played a game of TF2 where I was accused of cheating - I'm not any good, got a lucky shot on a cloaked spy that walked in front of an engi - and then a guy on the other team turned on his aimbot. (Easy to spot, 100% headshot, 150pts in a round)
