I was 100% going to say the same thing. That’s just poor planning if you end up needing to stop there. If you are heading in to that general area and DON’T stop to fill up, in say Barstow, you are just dumb.

It’s closer to 10 cents or so a gallon, depending on the owner. But yes the majority of the profit comes from sales of product inside the store.
I think the main issue with drones would be battery life. Just googling “best commercial drone” pulls up a DJI model, not cheap, but it only has a 55 minute battery life, so you would need someone to swap batteries every hour, technically less, and the put it back in place in the air.
Just an anecdote, but my mom and her husband were at the local Mercedes dealer looking for a new/used vehicle, the sales people actively steered them away from their EV’s, not that they were really interested in them in the first place, according to them they were getting a TON back because stuff wasn’t working.
the situation you talk about is exactly why I have talked about modifying building codes nationwide. Essentially treat EV chargers more or less like handicapped spots, with some modifications. All new construction, as far as I know, is required X handicapped spots which I think varies by size, or maybe occupancy, so…
You might be right, I honestly don’t remember lol. But if it did happen early in Tesla’s life saying no to licensing the tech might not have been a bad idea. Who knew they would make it, plus there was the existing charging network, it just turned out to be garbage haha.
Well to be fair they didn’t license in the US until recently though I think they were forced to in Europe a few years ago. Their thing is there are a LOT of Superchargers, mostly or maybe all Level 3, which IMO is the ONLY public charging that should be allowed outside of extended stay locations like home, work,…
Yep, the only reason Tesla even exists is Musk personally, and convinced investors, that burning literal billions of dollar for what like a decade was perfectly fine.
But do you really want sauna with pee and garbage water steam lol.
Well to be fair it’s not going to be reducing speed that much in such a brief length of time.
It won because the supercharger network is bigger and hand down better across the board than competitors. Is the plug smaller and easier to use, probably, but it is the superior infrastructure of the supercharger network that won.
“On the few occasions I’ve seen these in person, I’m always shocked at how small they are.”
You are probably right. So long as they don’t need to navigate narrow or shallow areas there is almost no limit on size. I think many are only limited in size by the Panama Canal. Frankly being trapped on a ship with 10k other people sounds like hell to me anyway. Not to mention their habit of becoming floating…
While I generally don’t get it as a car either, I think Ed summed it up pretty well. On normal streets at normal speeds it’s like driving a Bentley, effortless and sedate, but then when the road opens up and you give it the beans it just PILES on the speed, and it’s still... effortless. A lot of super/hyper/mega cars…
Well it was NEVER going to be cheaper
I vote for the outside angled panels cause it looks walleyed.
One was me in deep East Texas at 16 years old, so 1996, going to visit my grandma with a friend along for the ride. First dumb thing, you know teenage brain, we had been smoking joints pretty much the entire drive, I pull into Tenaha Texas, didn’t realize it dropped from 55 to 30, this is REALLY common in small towns,…
“But driving over 85mph = abuse?”
I figured it was some huge number considering how many you see on the road every day. But yeah unless 90% or more are destroyed, this car even with a single mile will never be worth huge money, except to some truly insane person, I mean there are people who want delivery mile cars, but this wasn’t exactly a limited…
So much this, could it be worth a lot of money in the future, maybe. But at the same time they made tens of thousands of these, like you need 90%+ percent of these to get destroyed for this to ever be worth anything.
