I think a little bit of this adolescence has been missing from the show ever since RTD left. Which makes me really torn on the subject, because boy, does his style of writing presents some problems. Basically RTD era was operating on the ‘rule of cool’ while for Moffat plot twists were all that mattered. Saddest thing Read more

Given I09's support for LGBTQ representation in media, I’m surprised that the series finale for My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic didn’t get any notice here. Confirmation of a same-sex relationship and marriage, including a happily-ever-after, and a very blatant and in-your-face, all-but confirmation of a second?

As a life long super-fan of Godzilla, Godzilla KOTM was wonderful and that movie was nearly everything I could have ever wanted from an american made Godzilla movie.

My son is just about to turn 6 a couple days after Christmas. He has spent pretty much his entire 5th year being obsessed with Godzilla - primarily classic Godzilla and the original franchise. I have no idea where he got it from, because I don’t really care two ways about Godzilla. He’s got too many toys to count: Read more

I’ve been thinking this for a while. We can all become Spider people, or Doctors, or Thors, or Caps. That was the whole point of Cho-Hulk, Jane-Thor, Sam-Cap, Kamala, Thirteen, etc. Who’s underneath the costume doesn’t matter. What matters is that whoever wears the costume, whoever takes on the mantle, is taking on Read more

I was really afraid this season of Doctor Who would become an SJW nightmare, I have been pleasantly surprised by the quality of the writing. I think it is more about the timing of the quips. The season premiere was honestly the worst episode of the bunch so far. The Ghost Monument was one of my favorite episodes of Read more

With all due respect to Darth Vader, my Superfriends-loving childhood self feels strongly that there has never been a more badass villain helmet than Black Manta.

Ray Harryhausen didn’t work on King Kong. Kong was animated by Willis O’Brien. Harryhausen’s first commercial animation work was on George Pal’s Puppetoons.

You could have posted “So and so is working on a documentary that proves Santa is real, but he hates you” and I wouldn’t have cared, because there’s news on Gargoyles, the best thing Disney ever did. Seriously, where else do you get an immortal Macbeth fighting monsters? I loved the whole thing. Even the world tour, Read more

Could we just agree that the show is non-canon, thus leaving room for a better version of the Inhumans in the MCU (on the small or big screen) in the future?

Mark Bagley’s art for the Ultimate Universe Venom was so Eldritch and awesome, it really defined the look of the character for me. It’s kind of a bummer to see him playing it so safe here Read more

In case you didn´t know the 2003 TMNT animated series had the tone of JL/JLU and the 2012 one had de exact tone of Teen Titans.

As not a major comic book fan, not really sure how a relatively short middle-aged Jewish man from NJ who’s superpower is political comedy and news satire fits into the Justice League, but having seen the movie I can only imagine it will help.
