Hey, I appreciate your struggle. I'm obviously fortunate to have parents willing to harbor me through college, free bus and train pass, and to live in Utah, one of the cheapest states of all for tuition. With federal pell grants, I don't have to pay very much in the end. I only have a few thousand dollars worth of…

This report from a couple years ago showed that the most expensive state's average yearly tuition was only in the $14,000 range. I live in Utah, one of the cheaper states, so I suppose I'm lucky. I'm not surprised if Harvard and Yale are really over $60k, but even accounting…
I see. I've always thought estimated costs that includes room/board or transportation are outrageous (although beneficial for receiving financial aid).
What schools cost $25,000 a year? Are you just aiming high so your kids can go to Harvard/Yale? I've attended two different colleges, one of which is relatively prestigious, and the highest my year-long tuition has ever been was around $5,000.
Thanks for reading!
I wrote that blog post last July. This game hadn't even been announced yet as far as I know. I don't know much about whether realism has been done, or done well before, but my point is that I'm sick of the setting, regardless of how realistic it is. I'm not attacking this game specifically, and I'm…
No, no, no. The real problem isn't the magic and science fiction, it's the god-damned medieval setting itself. Talk about a dead horse beaten beyond recognition. I ranted about this forever ago on my blog.

I don't understand why there isn't more criticism for this…
Not to mention the other eye. Her head would have to be literally twice as wide for this diagram to work, lol
Whatever you do, don't get pizza on valentine's day.
I've been antivirus-free for two years, and I've never looked back. Antivirus software is just a memory hogging background process that is only useful for the kind of people who see "You are the millionth visitor! Congratulations!" and excitedly click it.
Use a web filter like Web of Trust, get Adblock or something…
Sounds like you lucked out. I'm just hoping there will be more special editions around than Nintendo is letting on. I might even be willing to pay one of those scumbag scalpers, if the price isn't too high.
They probably won't announce anything until next September. And even then, don't hold your breath. The newest iPod Touch is still a rather cutting-edge device, so even if they do announce a new one, you won't regret it.
Since I don't spend every second of every day scouring the internet for info on new Nintendo releases, I missed out on the Collector's Edition with the statue and the New 3DS XL, so I figured I could at least get the guide. Who would have thought I would ever be happier with Prima Games than I am with Nintendo...
I like watching the different glitches in a game, but it still annoys me how difficult it is to find a speedrun that doesn't exploit major glitches nonstop. I don't mind stuff like walking backwards or jumping because it's faster and unintended shortcuts, but when the player is glitching through walls, re-writing the…
I haven't traveled very much at all, but I think I have a pretty good system. I keep a spreadsheet in Google Drive. It has six categories.
On person - To pack / Not to pack
Small bag (personal item) - To pack / Not to Pack
Large bag (Carry-On) - To pack / Not to pack
I use it as a packing list, and as a…
"Halo 2 did not"
I guess maybe that's my thing. I just don't write. Almost everything I do is digital, and if I ever do need to write something down, I have like 10 sheets of lined paper in brad fasteners in the center of my 2 dollar folders that I use. I used to carry around a hardbound sketchbook, and I wrote and doodled a lot more…
Okay, but how? What kind of swank? Is there something special about the paper? Or is it just the binding/presentation?
Of course, we have some suggestions for great paper notebooks that won't break the bank and can fit just about any possible need, including the iconic Moleskine, which is available in tons of sizes, styles, colors, and notebook types. There's also the Moleskine Smart Notebook, which is perfect if you want to give…
