She’s talking about the how colonization puts a zap on POCs minds. Some POC are able to recognize it. Some aren’t and continue to perpetuate white superiority and the demeaning of their own people. All she was saying was that she recognized that this story is based on his real life, but this colonized mind zap on POC

My *first* thought is that you commented based on the headline, before reading LITERALLY the first paragraph where she addresses that it’s a true story. She’s just exhausted“by the onscreen depiction of a brown man wanting to date a white woman, while brown women are portrayed alternately as caricatures, stereotypes,

I think you’re missing the point. The point isn’t that Kumail ended up with a white person. The point is that any love interest of his that also happens to brown is portrayed as a one-dimensional cartoon.

As a Pakistani woman myself, I can give this movie a pass for that reason. But either way, I’m tired of seeing brown love interests in American media being passed up for white love interests, mostly because they are portrayed as one-sided caricatures. It’s the same problem I have with Mindy Kaling’s show.

I’m responding to this message because it has spawned a good amount of W. reflection and too much credence to W.’s character.

I’m from the internet police. I’m going to need to see a gif of Mr. Quackers eating crackers or I’ll have to revoke your internet privileges.

*Rethought a tongue in cheek joke and decided to post Mr. Quackers instead*

why would anyone want Bernie Sanders to be president, I mean do we really want another rich old white gun nut as president? I thought we already had that with the Bushes and Reagan

Seriously. Can you imagine the number of people we could feed, clothe, and shelter adequately if we just nixed the F-35?

I make it a point to encourage sloths.

of course not. If women get hungry, then they eat food. and when they eat food, then they get fat. and when they get fat, then all the boners get sad.

AP History made me the man-hating, fancy-job-having feminist harpy I am today! Whoo hoo!

So no one's going to mention how the models are wearing distinctly American-style Kepi hats? They were part of the US military uniform from about the civil war (on both sides) through the INDIAN WARS.
