Had a hell of a time waking up the Lancia this morning. Started right up and went over 100 miles yesterday but I guess it just wasn’t feeling it today. A little aimless driving around followed by heading a town over to get some ethanol free 91 octane to start the driving season off right.
I’m usually not one to care all that much about wheel, however the only thing I’m not really liking on the Abarth right now are the wheels. I’m looking into these Cromodora CD66 replicas from a place called Allisons Automotive. They’re only 15s so I can get a lot more sidewall and hopefully a slightly less bumpy ride.…
I don’t drive the Fiero nearly as much as I used to. Stuck between the carbureted charms of the Lancia and the modern low mileage 500 Abarth it kind of occupies a strange place in my fleet. A broken headlight from hitting a deer awhile ago probably contributes a bit too...
Somehow stumbled upon this while looking at Plymouth Sapporos...
Not that a 70s car is all that safe in a crash anyways.
Found this reddit post last night. It’s worth a look. Pretty brutal trip for an old car and it definitely had some issues on the way down, but it made it.
Apparently this guy went to FCA in late 2017 to pitch the idea to create a new Lancia EV based on the early 00s Fulvia coupe concept. Obviously it was shot down but I can’t say I’m against the idea. I know it would piss off a bunch of people who only care about Lancia for the WRC wins, though.
I’m really surprised that both a 124 and a TR8 (I presume that would be the donor?) existed in Sterling, of all places
Repost since it got Kinja’d:
That Scorpion has definitely been lowered quite a bit, even.
A few other brave souls showed to C&C. The weather was much better just a few miles north. Six cars turned up. The Buick is owned by some old family friends.
Screw it. Less people means less people in line for bagels and coffee, right?
I’ve only been to 6 or so C&C with the Scorpion and never really enjoyed myself too much. Our local C&C is this weekend and I’m going to try and make another showing and see how it goes. It should be pretty small, a couple dozen cars or so, on account of winter but that’s more my speed anyways.
I’m a simple man with narrow interests. I see a cool photo with a Lancia, I post it. Man, is it slow at work tonight.
If you’re on Oppo tonight you have time to spend 3 minutes listening to 3 variations of Monte. At this point in seems like no two cars are alike with everyone adding their own unique touches. It’s cool seeing how each owner can make a car their own.
Just look at those roads in the background. Somebody had fun.
Oppo is super slow tonight so I guess I’ll just have to read actual books instead.
Before work caves in this afternoon. Roads are still empty and largely clear, none of the snow thats been promised has made its way over the foothills, apparently.
Or summer something to our friends below the equator. Family brunch later (which really means early dinner if past trends are anything to go by) but I figure the roads should be pretty empty this morning 😄
