Personally, I think both Star Trek and Star Wars are so played out that for any series to have a hope of doing anything new, it would need to diverge so much from the core of the franchise that they might be better off just starting off with a completely new background. That's sort of what Andromeda did; say what you

"At NYCC today, Marvel announced that it would be cancelling its entire line of X-Men books this month and restarting the numbering at 1 the next month. In a follow up announcement, Marvel said that it would be cancelling its entire line of X-Men books next month, and the month after that restarting the numbering at

There's just something weird and creepy about old photos, no matter what the subject matter.

Would Paramount be interested in doing a Star Trek TV series anymore that was not somehow tied into the reboot movie series? (Without McFarland; that goes without saying.) Personally, I'd like to see a new series set in the Next Generation continuum after the events that led to Spock travelling to the reboot movie's

I think part of the staying power of the Bond series is that it's impossible to take seriously. You know exactly what you're getting with a Bond movie — babes, gadgets, violence and, as Charlie put it, slightly tacky elegance — and that's it. If we want to watch a movie, we can stream pretty much anything available from Amazon for $5 or so, $10 if it's one of the newer "pre-theatrical" releases, which I noticed they're doing with Melancholia now. So, in exchange

Young Indiana Jones was technically a prequel, but considering that it had absolutely nothing to do with the Indiana Jones movies beyond the name, it probably gets a pass.

I watched the trailer and said to myself, "Meh."

Even in a classless workers paradise, dickheads will invariably rise to the top.

I would like to add to the list of movies which should never have prequels "Every movie ever made."

I wonder how they can afford to just abandon these big parks in Japan. Isn't land there like a million dollars an acre or some such?

You're a woman, aren't you?

I love this sort of thing. It reminds me of the old Hammer movies I used to watch late nights after the local news (ask your folks, kids). I do wish the trailer hadn't given away the plot, though.

Perhaps it's Clark Kent's college years.

It's official. I'm too old for the interwebs.

Crap, I give up.

No, really. I will get it down.

Someday, I will figure out this posting a photo thing.

Oh, good. Now that that's answered, maybe science can get back to the burning question of what was the actual combination to Captain Kirk's safe.

It has a very gothic feel to it, Superman by way of Warhammer 40K, which is an interesting new look for Krypton. I give them points for trying something new-ish and getting rid of the crystalline motif.
